Rouen traffic?

We've been to the 24hrs since 1997 and CLM for the first time in 2010. We've always avoided driving through Rouen due to traffic delays the first couple of years, preferring to use the twisties either to the east or west and stopping in a village for lunch.

This year we're thinking about the Rouen route again. If you drove through Rouen on the way to this year's 24hrs were there traffic jams/delays?

Not that we encountered but that was from Dieppe over the big bridge. Last few years have been in from Dieppe or le Havre. Recall the Calais route goes through that sort of industrial area where most of the problems are.

Should have mentioned, yes we're doing the tunnel and in the past always got held up in a jam with trucks through the industrial area.

Been doing Le Mans for 10 years and have been 3x this year alone. Never been held up at Rouen.

Pretty sure the Tour is going through Roen on Thursday - might be worth avoiding and heading west to Caen then due South.

Tour will make it a nightmare I'd imagine, but anyway.... There were some roadworks just north of the tunnel, didn't make a huge amount of difference though, but you never know!

You've been 3 times this year gixer? What was the other event mate? I miss le mans really bad! Can't make the classic but I didn't know they did much else there

we have friends that live near by, so have been down to see them a couple of times too
