Le Mans Classic next weekend.
Discussion
Good afternoon one and all,
New to this website and already looking for a favour.
My function during the 24 hr Le Mans is meteorological information
for the Audi Joest Race Team and my equipment for thet race is still parked at the airport in Le Mans. At the moment I am planning flying to CDG and then TGV to Le Mans on Friday morning /afternoon and returning with my equipment on Saturday.
At this late stage I thought I would ask if anyone going from England has a spare seat outbound on Thursday or on Friday morning and would appreciate the company outbound including a tank full of fuel as well, please let me know.
My email is racemet@aol.com
thanks
David Morton

Not very good really.
I use the charts from this site:
http://www.westwind.ch/?link=ukmb,http://www.wette...
and you can keep coming back to it and it always refreshes. Either that or F5 on your keyboard.
Southwesterlies all weekend with intermittent rain showers invading the Le Mans area at any time until Monday. Temps are also available on the Westwind.ch site - in fact any weather information your heart desires - and the Le Mans area will probably struggle to reach 25 in overcast conditions. If you get any sunshine run around and make the most of it. However I doubt you will see your shadows very much. I's all primarily because of in intense low pressure in the South Western Approaches and later in the Bay of Biscay and if you press the play
button on the website above you will see plenty of fronts , troughs of low pressure, and occluded fronts all transiting across Le Mans. Thats basically how I do it but I'm lucky as I have a superb meteorologist called Victoria Sinclair and she operates from Helsinki and in fact she briefs the teams for me without me getting involved. Additionally I have a rain radar - currently at the Airport in Le Mans and I'm bringing it home for the 6 hr race at Silverstone in August for Audi Joest.
I'm coming out to Le Mans on Friday but with the weather situation I've decided to collect my equipment and return on the Saturday. Sorry to be the bringer of not such good news.

If I get the contract for 2013 I'll be at the small bungalow on the right
as you enter the airport. If its on, then before hand you can email me on racemet@aol.com and remind me of this discussion. I'll try and help out as much as I can, unofficially, at any event where I'm working but please realise I cannot go into specifics for each day unless you pay me more than Audi Motorsport.

QED.
Thank you so much Phillip. I am indebted to you. I left at 1400hrs on Saturday afternoon, collected my champers at Franglais (near the channel tunnel)and the rest is history. For all the other chaps who replied offering lifts as well, I appreciate it and what a really nice crowd you all are on this website.
I am at the Le Mans race in Silverstone in August so if any one decides to go, come by for a coffee or what ever - I'm almost slap bang in the middle of the circuit and quite easy to spot - a 12 m mast with a radar turning on the top gives the game away.
