What to do on the way to Le Mans

Afternoon all,

For my stag do this year I am doing a trip to Le Mans.

We're a partY of 14,, taking 6 / 7 cars. We're driving from Dover on Wednesday morning with the aim of spending Wednesday afternoon and evening somewhere interesting and fun...

Then will drive down to Le Mans on Thursday morning.

Does anyone have any ideas or experiences to share. We're not really keen on driving into Paris, sounds like a logistical nightmare.

We're all around the 30 year old mark....interested in all options.

Honfleur is a lively fishing port, with lots of good food and drinks, very busy tourist wise and about halfway to le mans.

Not sure what your idea of Fun is? I love the drive to Le mans, you could take in the Old Historic grandstands of the Reims road circuit? Just Google it up and you will see the location. We go down to Le mans on a Thursday morning then stay overnight in a chateau on the Sunday evening, you could always do it the other way around depending on your budget? If your into WW2 stuff You could always look at some of the British landing beaches, Atlantic wall etc? As others have said Honfleur is nice, but choose your restaurant's carefully as it is touristy and can be expensive!

Alternative to Paris would be Versailles. Good location for en-route to Lemans, you get a taste of the Parisien atmostphere, bit of culture and plenty of great bars, restaurants and places to stay.

Thanks for your replies.

We were thinking of somewhere like Le Touguet on the Northern Coast for a bit of relaxing by the beach, a few drinks and some nice restaurants. Perhaps even a round of golf.....we're all early 30s on a bit of a road trip and whilst it's not a crazy Gumball Syle Stag do....were still looking for a laugh.

Le Touquet is a great place to stop. Plenty of good restaurants and it's by the sea. We'll be there at least once during our trip to Le Mans this year.
Have previously stopped at Honfleur and had good times there on the journey home also. Honfleur also has the added benefit that it makes the detour around Rouen more interesting and only adds 35 km/45 mins to the total journey.
Slightly further off route are Deauville and Trouville. Plenty to do in these two towns.

Theres also a good gokart track 20 mins away near berck... At least I think it was called that

It rather depends on your definition of "on the way the LM" but I think i'll be doing trackdays at Spa on the Monday and Tuesday before heading back to France
