Mazda 787B back at Le Mans

After earning Legend status following a poll by the ACO

11 legends were announced, all of which they are trying to get back to the circuit for various events at this years event including a parade lap of the circuit.

would be great to see all of those cars on track but i doubt they will get mazda to run it again this year

If they do bring it back they need to get someone who can drive it properly, like Johnny Herbert, rather than a Patrick Dempsey

Herbert drove it in 2011 so shouldn't be a problem.

It made a lot more noise being driven by Herbert on the Saturday than by Dempsey on the Thursday last time

i do hope Mazda do take it down and let us enjoy the sound of our past, i remember lying in my tent trying to work out where it was from the sound so different from anything else i have ever heard in almost 30 years of being there in June

we were sat in our campsite (houx) having a beer in 2011 , and you could hear the mazda all the way around the track !
awesome noise !

If I remember rightly the 757 3 rotor in 86 and 87 were even noisier with a note that hit at a painfull frequency.
