Driving Le Mans
Discussion
I am organising a banger rally for the weekend of 28th - 30th June and am looking at the option of visiting Le Mans.I hope to get 20 - 40 cars involved.
1. Can you turn up and drive the 24hr circuit (like Nurburg ring)?
2. If so what are the costs?
3. If not how much of the circuit is on public roads and does it still link up?
4. What is the museum like, worth a 200 mile detour if the track is not viable?!
Cheers
Jamie

No you can not drive the full circuit apart from the organised laps associated with the classic every two years, and that cost a fair wedge.
parts of the circuit are public roads but even those bits change for the race like the mulsanne but you do still get the feel of the ultra smooth surface and perfect camber.
The museum is good but a 200 mile detour is quite a distance for old cars just to see more old cars

2 - N/A
3 - About 2 thirds, but the mulsanne straight is broken up by roundabouts.
4 - Its good, but probably not worth the detour
