Well attempted to book Portsmouth to cherbourg on the 20th of June and its Fully Booked! Bugger banghead
The whos on what crossing thread does not even seem to have any PHs on the Portsmouth Cherbourg route frown

So I guess its back to bloody Dover frown Have to say the prices with Brittiany ferries are getting rather large frown other ports seem to have strange sailing departure times this year frown

Pompey -> Caen no use to you?

We joined Britney's travel club which gets us a discount on the crossing (plus free breakfast etc).

Brittany also do Poole to Cherbourg.

DFDS/LD Lines do Pompey to Le Havre.

Couple of options there - don't know how full the above sailings are though.

Sorry to say I don't like sitting on a Boat for hours on end frown

Had thought about going on the boat overnight leaving on the Wednesday but adding it all up at over £400 with a cabin its just not worth it.

£97.00 return on the Tunnel!

Im not going to use £300 quids worth of fuel getting to le mans and back. (but I promise to try) biggrin

Im sure the Fastcraft used to leave Portsmouth at 7am a few years ago rather than the 9am currently advertised?

I was looking forward to cutting across Normandy on the B roads and entering Le mans from a 9 ock direction.

Note to self, Book Travel before Christmas frown

Sorry to hear about your problems, i used the fast crossing in 2011, but even then we booked way before xmas and they were booking up fast!

This year im going tunnel out (using Tesco vouchers for free crossing) and then fast Cherborg back on the Monday as live in Bournemouth. I think I got a bit of discount from being a CSMA member, so single return crossing was about £100, thought that was pretty good.

Think on the positive side that you will have a nice drive from Calais to Le mans, Im doing it over 2days to take in all the back roads.

Not that it helps but the Brittany route is now to Le Havre first thing, back to Pompey then over to Cherbourg in the afternoon. They changed it after I'd booked and we were given first option to swap to the LH route before it went public.
