I think we have seen the end of camping in this area.

Shame.

Stayed there last years LM Classic and thought it was a great location and place to watch.

A lot of changes in the past few years and none of them for the better IMHO..

Thread resurection........we didn't go this year but intend to be there in 2014. Did anybody that went this year notice whether the "grandstand" on the karting pits roof was operational, bearing in mind the alterations to the KN campsite. We usually watch from here as it's a damn fine place to get a wire free view of the cars for those without a grandstand seat.

I walked past there this year as I thought it would be a good place to watch from. On the Saturday morning there were 'security' types standing at the bottom of each stairway onto the roof. It looked a lot like someone had reserved the area. I seem to recall there were small metal barriers across the stairs on the Sunday as well.

I didn't try it on Saturday night - it may have been empty / free then but why would you watch from there at night when you can go down to Arnage / Indianapolis

We went there Saturday night, no security guards and those barriers had been pulled aside by then so easy to get up onto the roof. We'd already done Arnage and Indy at night during qualifying earlier in the week!
