went up in one last year, I'm not sure how to go about booking it.. We went at sunset ( lovely light) during the race, just to the airfield next to the grandstand. Cost 50 euros each for about a full circuit and a half. took my dad up for fathers day. just perfect..

I'd be interested in doing this too. I've seen the posters but never got much further.

A with most things at Le Mans don't bother booking ahead from the UK. Helicopter rides are available on a walk up basis on the other side of the road from the main entrance Sunday can get a bit busy so best done on Saturday, It is a really good experience.

Glad I read this thread. Was trying to book but it seems I needn't bother.

And also, I can see my car in the TL pic smile

See above - appears it's very much a walk-up and go affair.

Have done this once, and its a great experience

Would recommend doing it on the Saturday or Sunday morning, I went up just after lunchtime on the Sunday and obviously lots of cars had retired by then, and others were in "cruise to the finish" mode

Even the view from the big wheel is great so I can't imagine how good the helicopter would be. I always assumed it would be quite pricey though as the agencies seem to charge about £150 for it. Now I just need to convince the other members of the group that it would be a good idea. I wonder how many can get in at one time?

I paid € 90,= for 10 minutes 2 years ago. € 50,= sounds very cheap. Worth every penny though!

I read something about a zeppelin/airship this year?

I'm sure it was €90 per person and they I believe have 4 per chopper...
