13 Roundel

All year you spend time polishing and preening your car (well most of us do) but for one week of the year you get an irresistible urge to cover your P&J with well placed and much thought about vinyl stickers as you gear up for Le Mans. You may like one or two carefully placed stickers or perhaps you prefer to go the whole hog and recreate a racing car, but if you choose not to then sometimes you feel a bit left out in the ferry queue.

Last week we launched the LM13 T-Shirts (as well as some coats and stuff) and today we have the PHLM vinyl range too, just in time for a few PH stickers to be included in your plans.

Let’s get one thing straight though, PistonHeads vinyl is of the highest quality created with your car in mind. Note that white areas of the stickers don't show up well in the images as they don't have a black border as part of the design.

The '13' roundel that is hard to see is a white roundel with see-through panels for the '13' to allow the colour of the car paintwork to show through.

Just a bit of advice.

Mate of mine used to run a 'comedy' hazard sticker on his car, was pulled-over by Plod ENDLESSLY and ticked-off for it.

I cannot remember what arcane legislation they threatened him with but on the 5th or 6th occasion they made him remove it.

I once did an ADR course (Accord Dangereux Routie) it governs the transportation of dangerous goods and is heavily enforced by the French, they will slap a several thousand pound fine if your placard is 2mm too small or slightly the wrong shade of orange, I imagine that French customs may take a dim view on that sticker, first they will assume you are carrying dangerous goods, then they will realise your placard is too small, then they will see what it is and well you know what the French are like. I wouldn't run the risk of a pointless tug by French customs

The first PH Hazchem sticker was released in '04 (I think, or was it '06?) and has been rereleased regularly since.

I'm sure there is a French lawman somewhere who won't like it, but we've not heard of any stories in almost 10 years. Strong seller too...hopefully '13 will be trouble free.

Sorry but I miss the old shop and the official tshirts and sticker, it was better seeing the official t shirts been worn round le mans now it's not as impact full. (bet the service is better in the new shop lol)

I liked the official shirts too, but in all the time I've been here we've never got them 'right'. 06 was a good year, but too often we'd launch to a very mixed response.

Now you can take your choice, but I can see your point.

Have had the various PH hazchem stickers on for the last 5/6 years.

Never, ever been a problem.

Do you seriously think le plod are not going to spot that its a Le Mans theme, what with all the viper stripes, roundels, Steve McQueen stickers etc rather than a fuel tanker?

People are only whining because they probably aren't going. If you make it to LM without getting pulled then surely there's no issue. Nobody will die because you've fitted your P'n'J with a HAZMAT item! Normally plod only pull people for a few things: Speed, unsafe driving, showboating out of tolls or generally taking the piss with their laws. Granted we Brits are not that popular over there but we are not hunted by the locals or likely to be made an example of due to our dodgy French get-out-of-jail lingo. Sure these HAZ stickers might not be 100% legit on the road but if you stick close enough (we are not all saints) to the rules and don't drive 5 up, naked with your cocks plastered in peanut butter, singing Nazi war songs then you should just about make it to the site unhindered. How do the Dutch guys get there in one peice? They are loonballs in comparison to the Brit contingent.

Go forth and enjoy the trip if your joining the party! If you aint going, dont waste your non-refundable seconds pissing on the PH LM bonfire.
