Yvetot Diversion

At Le Mans hotel writing this - Thursday pm.
Came down from Eurotunnel via Yvetot and had no problems whatsoever. It's a bit slow far side of Yvetot if you get stuck behind something - ie a convoy of lorries carrying logs like we did before we got back to motorway but apart from that it's a good run and very quiet.
Diversions are signposted on motorways to avoid burnt out bridge but they take you on the other Rouen route not Yvetot.
Also we didn't see a single Dibble all the way

Is this route down through the forest to Boug Achard via Caudebec-en-Caux?

Agree Yvetot - Bourg Achard route is good - traffic was light and a simple route to follow. Maybe the default route for future years....

I took this route and will be taking it again next year, its a bit further but when you factor in the traffic through Rouen its hassle free.

My route for the future also. Far more pleasant that Rouen and added no extra time to the journey - including the way down when I didn't pay attention and went through the town centre.

Went this way as well. Caudebec (sp?) is very pleasant and a couple of nice spots for lunch by the Seine.

We got off the ferry in Dieppe at 0400 Friday 21st then headed straight down the autoroute to Le Mans.

I think we got to Rouen at roughly 6am, flew straight through, following the diversion over the new bridge in the industrial area.

No hold up at all.

Coming back we went through Rouen at about 2.30pm on the Monday 24th, and apart from literally 5 mins hold up (when joining the dual carriageway following the diversion) we flew straight through again

We very nearly took the Yvetot detour, but glad we didn't in the end

We took the diversion but then ended up stuck behind the world's slowest tractor with no overtaking places... Think it would of been quicker to go through Rouen in the end.

Same here, albeit a tunnel not ferry, it was fine.....

I loved the route and don't think it added much to the total time and that's an epic bridge crossing however, there was a hell of a queue for the peage that followed it at about 1.30pm ish which totally blew any time saved. I heard reports from mates that went back via Rouen with no delay only about 40 mins ahead of us.

What peage? we took the yvetot route and never went anywhere near a peage, rejoined the n138 simple cheap and time saving route i will use again

Sounds like E36GUY made a navigation error and crossed the Pont De Normandie which is an epic bridge over the Seine near Le Havre, with a couple of peages. Not part of the Yvetot route, however.

Actually, as you head from the bridge towards the road to Alencon, there is a peage booth just before you join the motorway (and before the main peage booths on the A28) - it can sometimes get a bit snarled up with a few trucks, but generally we've had an easy run through there.

Possibly but looking at the map I can't see a better route to Calais. You wouldn't have seen the peage if you were heading for Dieppe.

My route down was usual A28 then taking a right onto the A29 towards Yvetot, heading south crossing at Caudebec En Caux and on to Bourg Achard re-joining the A28 there. That's correct no?

I just reversed the route coming back there was a long queue for the peage before the A29/A28 junction.

If you're heading to Dieppe get off the A28 J14 Bernay, take the D384 to Lieurey then D810 and cross the Tancarville bridge and on to Dieppe.

For Calais without paying the Toll for about 400m on the A13, off at J13 then D438 to Bourgtherolde, D313 , D913 cross at Caudebec then up to Yvetot and Calais

Both routes give you a break from the M'way and a few more options to stop and take a break.
both options also work if using the old 138
