Thought as much! Did spot them but didn't get a close enough look to see if they were police or not.

I saw one or two camo'd up, do they just pull you in on the next junction if you're caught? I didnt see anyone pulled, nor did i see anyone particularly bombing it!

Yep, spotted them. We were doing 85 on cruise and got passed by an Aston with a British Tiguan welded to its rear bumper, we saw the Tiguan pulled by the police at the toll booth!

I saw two of them, crouched down on the grass bank just before a sign with a deer on it. I was doing 125km/h so they didn't get me....

I had the chance to drive my chums DB9 on the way down so I swapped from the camper van to the DB9 and started the engine.

I've owned a fair few fast cars but respected the fact it wasn't mine so kept to the limit and was very sensible for about an hour. Another member of our party has a C63 and having turned onto a straight stretch with him behind me I was told by the DB9 owner 'go on, give it some beans.........'

I did so and very quickly I was up to 140mph, all in about 10 seconds only then to see a bike with blue lights pull out of the bushes frown

I was guided along the road for about 3 miles and ushered to a roundabout where I saw a line of other UK (and French) drivers being questioned by the police with about 3 cars and 6 or 7 bikes.

I have to admit that at this stage I was thinking I'm in the st here yes

The policeman that stopped me made me aware that I was in for a ban and a 750 Euro fine, however.......

He really, really liked the DB9 (and James Bond apparently) and the car was more than capable of this and fast speeds......

He 'officially' booked me for 178kph, fined me 90 Euros, gave me a receipt and my license back and suggested I took more care as his friends were waiting along the route for those who ignore the limit.

I have for the last 4 years gone to LM in a camper and deliberately not driven either my cars or any others for that very reason, I know I'll be tempted to push it a tiny bit, so at the first opportunity I changed back from the DB9 into the van that was with us and had a beer!

I think I'm quite lucky yes and that's one way you pay your fine!

The ones I saw Sunday evening who were around 20km north of the A28/A29 junction were actually at some form of entrance to the motorway possibly an engineering layby or something and they had a motorbike and car hidden just off the road down the embankment hidden by the bushes. I actually saw the car and bike first from some distance away and wondered what they were, then saw the guys in camo. Could only see the bike and car very briefly

I know its more risky due to the ban in france, but does anyone use radar detectors when they go down? I haven't been yet myself, but reading everything about the police hiding it does make me wonder if people take a detector and just hide it at tolls/if they do get pulled!
