Getting TV coverage of the race when at Le Mans

So after listening to the radio all weekend again this time, I want to take a TV next year - is there an easy way to get the TV coverage - I saw people with satellite dishes, which I can do - but do I need a subscription? I also saw people with a standard TV aerial - that seems too easy - can I just pick up from local TV??

You will need a Sky subscription and Eurosport which means you will need a dish and your sky box with you as well.

Or possibly the Eurosport app on a phone/tablet with an unlimited data tariff.

Mobile network capacity was rubbish this year. Technically a signal was available, but trying to get a connection or a data rate was a different thing altogether.

I assume this was also part of the reason (along with WifI being up the creek) that PH were so quiet over the weekend.

We use a free to air Satelite signal to pick up German Eurosport, and get Audio from Radio Le Mans !

Works well. The difficult bit was keeping the dish aligned in the wind.

Which satellite were you pointed at for that, we had the kit but couldn't find / didn't know of a FTA option.

Ah good point there - connection was terrible for me too.

I run German Eurosport and listen to radio lemans, works well.

Coverage this year was a lot better than previous when Eurosport kept on putting tennis and cycling on all the time

Next year one of our group Is brining their sky box from home so we can see how we get in running the uk Eurosport, will still bring the old kit just incase!

Just to add some thoughts on 3G coverage, we were considering this, but found the data speed so slow you couldn't even load a web page at times let alone stream video.

I assume it's just the network being overwhelmed
