PistonHeads at Le Mans 2014

Join PistonHeads and 1st Tickets in Le Mans for the 2014 24-Hour and Classic

Weather didn’t stop play at Le Mans and while we can only wish we’d had a little more sun it’s fair to say it was another memorable year for those who went along, even given the mixed emotions following on-track tragedy early in the race.

The PH campsite - in the thick of the action
The PH campsite - in the thick of the action
On site it was another fine year for 1st Tickets and PistonHeads on Bleu Nord as we entertained 480 campers with a weekend of food (included in the price) and drink, clean showers and toilets without the need to queue, live coverage of racing and rugby, wi-fi, and the Le Mans essential of a fully gated site and patrolled security perimeter checks 24 hours a day.  Knowing your car and valuables are safe while you are away from your tent offers the peace of mind you need to relax and enjoy the weekend and if you don't fancy bringing your own tent we can even provide pre-erected tents too. Le Mans camping doesn’t get any better than this!

The PistonHeads private site for the 24H filled up very early into 2013 and we once again invite you to register your interest for staying with us in 2014. You don’t need to pay anything to do so, but you will be emailed with all the details (including pricing) before we announce details on the PistonHeads home page giving you the chance to book ahead of the crowds. If you want standard, non-private camping we can help with that too.

PH camping: like camping, just better
PH camping: like camping, just better
2014 sees the welcome return of the fantastic Le Mans Classic and PistonHeads will also be offering a high standard of private camping at this slightly more genteel version of Le Mans. Beer and burgers it isn’t, but it is a glorious throwback to a more gentlemanly aspect of endurance racing.

If you fancy joining us at either event please send an email to the 1st Tickets team stating either Le Mans 24 or Le Mans Classic as the subject line and we’ll be in touch with you as soon as we can with more details.

We look forward to seeing some of you on site next year.

Especially as it's the N24 the weekend after LM.

'13 was my first trip too & Brian and his team did a top job.....we had our names on the list sharpish and instead of 4 of us in '13, it is likely we will be at least 12 next time - it will be a long wait though smile

A bit late with this post but thought I would put on a link to my Flickr of some of my photo's for the PH Friday Service. I could only pop down for the day, so got a 3am tunnel so I could go the the Saint Saturnin meet first.

I really enjoyed the day, as I did last year. I may even try & do the whole weekend next year.

Attended Le Mans for the first time this year on the PH site. Had a fantastic time, & although used to family camping holidays over the years, this site was a step above the usual. The option to rent the pre set up tents makes the drive down easier in a sports car with much less kit to carry....well worth the extra pennies IMO. Great pics from the Friday service by the way.
Can't wait until next year's trip.

The last 2 years I have stayed at the nearby Maison Blanche campsite through Travel Destinations, which I have no complaints about but fancy a change. Just wondering if anyone can give me a ballpark figure on the price of this campsite?

Cheers.

I looked for information about this service on their 2013 pages but can't see it. Can you post a link?

For 2013 the pre-erected tents were £65 per person for two people sharing and £50 per person for four sharing. The package also included chairs, table, air mattresses and a lantern.

For two people we used a good sized five person tent and for four it was a seven person tent. Both were tall enough to stand up in and there was a "sitting" area.

We will add prices and information to the 2013 web page shortly.

That's great. A few piccies would be good too. I used Travel Destination's 'Event Tents' this year; would be good to see what the glamping competition is like for next time smile

2013 prices can be found here (link to 2013 PH news article).

The package is likely to be similar to 2013, which included channel crossing, camping at the PH/1st Tickets private campsite with all its facilities, breakfast and evening meal for three days, general entry to the event and special delivery.

For people living in mainland Europe, is it possible to order packages without the channel crossing?
