Porsche Curves campsite.

Does anybody on here know who was running the secure site on the inside entrance to the Porsche Curves (access through BSJ I imagine). I know it was mentioned several times last year but can't find any threads on here.

Stephen and Joy from Lycian events make the whole le mans experience great. Clean loos, hot showers, excellent food. The site is plenty big enough, good pitches and its secure. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

What the view like from the inside of the corner? Was on the outside this year and got a nice view of the entry to the corner.

I may be biased but the view is superb, because of the high banking which allows uninterrupted views of the track you can also see the high speed approach from Arnage as well as the entry into the Curves.

I was at the Travel Destinations site on the outside of the curves this year. I ventured into the site on the inside of the curves on the Thursday after taking a wrong turning on the long walk from the tram stop. The site on the inside of the curves looked pretty good although you do have to walk / take the bus through the refugee camp that is Beausejour to get there. The spectating from the hill is quite good.

That being said - I thought the viewing from the other side of the curves gives a better indication of the amazing speed and grip that the LMP cars carry through the entrance to the curves. You also get to see them head on rather than side on.

That all being said - you can access the outside of the curves viewing area without having to stay there - public access and all that. Plus the inside area had what looked like an ice cream van and a bar. Or thats what they looked like to me at 6am on Sunday.!!

I would agree that you don't see the cars head on but the fact that you can see the cars for a longer period makes it a great viewing area and makes a spectacle at night as you are in the first braking point as you enter the curves and you do see them from the back as they go through.

As I have said before all viewing positions are subjective and we all have our favourites , and that is how it should be.

You can access the viewing bank without staying on the site but as we have a free minibus service running to a half hour timetable you would not have had to walk from the tram station or through Beausejour, even if you take the the healthy option and walk you can use the pedestrian track at the bottom of the site.

If you want to have a look around next year please come and pay us a visit.
