Camping tickets reserved and thoughts just turning to our first "meeting" in the pub to discuss logistics.
At the same time i'm looking for a new car.
This got me wondering if there is any opportunity for a track lap at the full 24hr, and whether (as this is one on my bucket list) i ought to consider a car likely to qualify for this, if it exists?

I did one last year as part of the centenary perade at 11am on the sat! amazing experience.

Im not sure how you would ever go about organising one though

Not a prayer. Wednesday and Thursday, qualifying; Friday, circuit closed, Saturday warm up, Ferrari and Classic race then main race. If however, you get to give a chief marshal a lift to the briefing Thursday afternoon when the road is closed you might! Funny though - every time we forget the entrance to the briefing and have to go right round again to get to it

I tell you what nailing it round the circuit as the Ferarri's come on down the pit straight is a sight i will never forget, having your rear view mirror full of a race bred ferarri... ughhhh goose bumps just thinking back...

Have the car club laps early on Saturday morning stopped? I've not been up that early for a few years

No chance at the main 24 hours, but the classic is next year and you can buy circuit laps for a reasonable sum through the ACO or through the car clubs, thousands do it so no racing around, all pretty sedate

You cab buy a passenger lap in one of the Pescarolo Prototypes they use for the driving experiences normally held on the Bugatti Circuit. IIRC about €850 on Wednesday and Thursday and an eye-watering €1800 on Saturday.
