They sold one a couple of years back as well. As well as paying for the car the purchaser was bound by some pretty strict rules. Iirc they included only being able to run the car at events and tests with permission from pug and there had to be a certain number of pug employees in attendance at each run/test/race as well.

Peugeot won the 2009 race, you're talking about 2010.

Yep - Pug. ran their cars too hard and blew the turbo in one, then in the other, the told Henry Peskyrolo to stop his solid, sensible run for either 2nd or 3rd and run his car too hard too...up to the point the turbo blew.

Hugues de Chaunac.

Henri ran the Peugeot in 2009 and Treluyer binned it after 14 hours at the Forest Esses, which was subsequently a nail in the Pescarolo coffin as there was no insurance policy for the car.

ETA:

208 was one of those years when the cars were gloriously dirty come Sunday morning. Here's the chassis for sale as nature intended;

It was broken connecting rods, not turbos, from memory they had changed to titanium items and they were simply not up to the job.

The privateer car that year was run by Oreca, not Pescarolo.

The third factory car was out early on with a suspension failure that busted the tub

Interesting that they all went pop just after a stop. At the time the Radio LM commentary surmised it might be heat soak causing the turbos to blow.

That was the rumour, but later it came out that they were just pushing the envelope too far.

Wasn't it also down to the oil flow being interrupted during the pitstop? So when they came out charging they went bang fairly quickly.
