Ferrari rumours
Discussion
Luca Di Montezemelo has been dropping a few big hints again at a Ferrari return to Le Mans in the main category.
That I would love to see. But loyalties between Porsche and Ferrari would be severely tested.
I've really grown to admire Audi over the years for what they have done, but I will be hoping Porsche can fight them next year.

ooh, ooh! I'd love to see a F prototype, loved the 333SP.
I have to ask though - what is the loyalty between porsche and Ferrari? I'm not aware of any alliance at all, and I'm pretty sure they overlap as competitors on the bigger stuff like CGT and 918 Spyder. I'd be interested to see what their arrangement is, purely as an educational thing =)

With Ferrari and Porsche going toe to toe in the hyper hybrid(??) car market it would make sense for them to develop their power trains on the track
The Ferrari LMP rumour has been gathering pace over the last 18 months, even Autosport were getting in on it last week. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111742

Still, I'll only believe it until I see one on a startgrid somewhere.

Maybe there is some weight to the rumours.
Autocar have a pic up of a Ferrari prototype testing. Appears to be a race version of the laferrari.
But to me the wheelbase looks much longer and the rear section. They speculate it could be an lmp prototype underneath, but it clearly is GT based. If it is for lmp it could just be a mule for mechanics.
I don't see where a laferrari based racer would fit into a GT category? Not to Le Mans rules.

I don't think running the same engine like that is allowed in F1 rules with all the testing restrictions.
I don't think it would be part of an XX project either just from its appearance.
We will have to wait and see. If it was simply for engine testing also, I don't think they would have gone to the lengths they have to modify the entire cars bodywork and a the aero.
