Whilst "working" late I was having a look at the CBW website and wondering if the theme had been announced for 2014. There was nothing released except for the tease on the Introduction where it has "a double surprise to be revealed on January 31st".

I'd have a guess at something Beetle related seeing as though the works LMP is back this year. Or is that too obvious and maybe something left field like Nissan or TVR. Any hints or rumours circulating?????? I did hear on the Radio Le Mans WEC review podcast about some new team which may be getting announced, Hindaugh was very cagey, damn him!!

A Pork-based theme is the obvious choice indeed. Not a bad one, imho.

With Porsche coming back, I assume a lot of old winners like Van Lennep, Bell, Ludwig, Stuck, Ickx to name a few, will be at Le Mans too. A few of them might even hop over to Saint Saturnin?

Would that be during the race in June best time as the local coppers will have their hands full at that time laugh

It's a risk I'm willing to take. Although if you believe the total911 website the theme has already been announced and will be Porsche and Jurgen Barth will be visiting.

Do you need to register to go or just turn up on the day?

Just turn up. Normal cars like mine will be ushered towards the plebs parking lots, decent cars will be granted access to the main event biggrin

As we all know now, Porsche is the make of the year. At the same time, perhaps some of you would like to know that the event at Mulsanne, which started a few years back, is having the Renault Alpine as it's make of the year. The newer event at Arnage I have no information as yet.

Yes they usually are!
Trouble is something has to give, Nip down the Mulsanne straight am, then off to the British welcome for an hour, then to Le Bounty and then Mulsanne Village, OH and of course there is the pistonheads meet too! OH and the Pit walk! then dive back into campsite, dump cars and off into Le mans centre on the tram for the Drivers parade, Phew! Last few years I've missed the pit walk! frown

That sounds too much like hard work.

I think the GBW and Drivers Parade are essentials and if there is time we might try one of the others.
Looks like they need to arrange one or two of these events for the Thursday evening to spread them out a bit.

Whats the best way to get up to the CBW without driving? First year going this year with some friends of mine, so partly we dont know where to go or how we can get around, and partly I imagine so much beer will be consumed that driving is probably not the most sensible idea!

Get a Taxi with a couple of mates from outside the main circuit entrance up to the CBW. Should not be that much, get a price first wink The Taxi Rank is on the Airfield side of the road smile
