LM24H Private camp site options?
Discussion
Have managed to miss out on the 1st-Tickets (Non Private) Pistonheads camp site this year
Looking at alternatives and wondering if anyone has any recommendations? The 1st-tickets site was great but as this is no longer an option we are thinking about going with one of the private camp sites.
Currently looking at Speed Chills which looks great but not cheap. There's only 2 of us going so we like the idea of having a somewhere to hang out while away from the track, access to bar / food etc.

There are some PH options available still, as per this article: http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=159&i=294...

Thanks for this. Had a look at the link but it just seems to confirm they have sold out on the pistonheads camp sites. It looks like they only have general places left but I will contact them and find out.Does anyone have any recommendations for other package providers?

I looked at private campsites this year also. They are expensive for what they are.

Can't be arsed cooking? - There is a lot of food available on site and just outside the track.
Security? - Lock your valuables in the car. If it is visible on site - a small proportion of it may walk. ( I got done last year - not much but annoying)
TV - to watch some other sporting event? - You shouldn't be at Le Mans

I really couldn't make the sums add up, and I was thinking about it for 6 months.
We were going to do private camping but had it cancelled due to picking the wrong pitch size... As it happens its worked out quite well as we have sorted another site with allocated pitches and saved ~£100 per person, bearing in mind this was for smaller pitches, larger pitches would have been an even bigger saving. Benefits do sound good, but it is a lot more money for a sectioned area of the normal campsites..

Thanks for the reply. There is plenty of food but it's all pretty crap IMO. The idea of not needing to bring anything, having a fry up in the morning and a nice evening meal is appealing. We also got caught out on the Sunday last year not realising everything closed up as soon as the race finishes! Can't be arsed cooking? - There is a lot of food available on site and just outside the track.

There is only the two of us going so having a base with marquee, entertainment etc would be nice.
What camp site did you choose in the end?

McD's still open for a quality burger. We don't like going out on Sunday night due to number of people prowling the sites....
Yeah we decided against venturing out for the same reason. I was surprised that nowhere was selling food on site Sunday evening to be honest considering there were still quite a few campers. Luckily our friendly neighbours came to our rescue with an endless supply of pot noodles!

It's all about the "Beef" Pot Noodle, don't leave home without them
The kebab van on Bleu Nord usually stays till Monday.
Yeah I will be taking a supply this year.

The Kebab van by the entrance definitely gone by Sunday afternoon same as everywhere else last year. I ate far too much from there!
