Rhubarb and custard flavour did the job for me on BSJ last year.

For mooching about whilst awake listening to Radio LM on earbuds, Peltor Optime II were comfy but you could still feel the thud of the Corvettes.

Tried and tested... Peltor racetunes/work tunes headphones.
Even better are the active sound ones. Can vary volume of the ambient noise and radio. Therefore you can have a conversation but the loud noises are cancelled.
Radio is built into the ear protectors. So no annoying in-ear headphones inside the ear protectors. And no annoying wires either.
My personal favourite option.

+1. Bought 2 pairs of worktunes from the states, vendor marked them as worth $20 ish so no tax to pay. I think we paid around £50 for the two pairs (I think - a couple of years back).Even better are the active sound ones. Can vary volume of the ambient noise and radio. I've some ear protectors with a radio built in, form the Bay of Fleas for <£10 and they work really well (4 years now).
On the camp site, get some kip whenever you can and using ear plugs.
That said, I've found taking some anti-allergens, like Zyrtec, with a slosh of Scotch works quite well.

Indeed. Bulk buy branded ear plugs from Amazon or eBay and they are only pennies a pair, so you don't need to worry about re-using them multiple times.OvalOwl said:
I absolutely swear by these ear plugs for flying, sleeping & watching racing. I can't recommend them enoughjimi said:
I went low tech. Cheapest ones from boots were a couple of quid. Taped over with a couple of elastoplast to stop them coming off and my beanie hat over the top!
I could never get on with the cheap yellow ones.Fordy Bob said:
Need ear plugs? contact your local F1 fan, they wont need there's this season. My wifes hairdryer makes more noise than an F1 shopping trolley.
Of course if every car was as quiet as the Audis we wouldn't need earplugs at the track, just for the campsite.
