Breakfast stop suggestions
Discussion
1. Eat before you board the train. The English end of the tunnel is actually quite good and they do an 'any 3 items' bap in the morning (so bacon, bacon and bacon). I'm only coming from central London but that means up at 4am for the 06:50 train so usually in need of food/tea by Folkstone.
2. The Pas de Calais is boring so just get out of there as quick as possible is my tip. 06:50 (BST) train will get you to France 08:20 (BST+1) and an hour on the road will get you to Abbeville. Not stopped there myself but you should be able to find something, even if it's a larger supermarket that will usually have a cafe.
3. On the way back DON'T plan on eating in the French tunnel station - possibly the worst food ever created by man. There's a few reasonable places in the City Europe shopping centre next door but that's pre-checkin.

First time on the Chunnel this year and we are going to sorely to miss the P&O 7 items fry up!
Any suggestions for somewhere to stop not too far down in France? We are on the 06:50 so not much will be open when we land.
You will be getting to france at 8.30 so why do you think things will be closed in France?Any suggestions for somewhere to stop not too far down in France? We are on the 06:50 so not much will be open when we land.

Good advice that. If you are taking the Autoroute down then without turning off and hunting there is nothing worth stopping for until you get to the Aire de la Dentelle d'Alencon which is nearly at Le Mans but has a "Paul" patisserie therein.2.
