Best way to enjoy Le mans without hearing about foozball
Discussion
So while we are in Le mans enjoying the atmosphere, the circuit, the beers, the BBQ, with mates.
Any suggestions on the best way's not to hear a great deal about the forthcoming worlds cup
Example: In 2010 we had a great idea of going to find a french restaurant in Le mans that did not have screaming men watching some game. We found one went inside and was ushered right next to a large TV with the football on that was hidden from us when we first went in. The place and food was lovely so stayed and enjoyed our-self
So is there any way to enjoy Le mans without having to take too much of the football in?
or is it going to be impossible?
What do other "non football fan's" do? Grin and bare it.

Negative view:
Stay at home. Put up a gazebo in your garden, have a long electric lead towards said gazebo and install fridge, tv and skybox in gazebo. Only watch eurosport and listen to Radio Le Mans, don't read newspapers or talk to your neighbours (unless they're watching LM in your gazebo too).
Otherwise I fear you're screwed.
Realistic view:
But as people with sat dishes and tv's are in the minority on campsites, just do your normal camping stuff and you'll be reasonably fine.

Personally I'd go as far as saying that generally I hate football and would never watch it normally. I do enjoy watching a big England World Cup match or a Euro occasionally though as generally where I've done so in the past it's always been with a big group and mates and has been great fun, a bit like Le Mans in way. I will watch the match on Sunday morning and enjoy it despite generally having a major dislike for the sport, each to their own (isn't that the Pistonheads motto, not!
).

The majority of people at le mans are non football fans and to be honest we saw very little of the football last year, just do your normal thing and y0u will bearly know that football exist, and that is how it should be
I wasn't the world cup last year. Personnaly I will take delight in cheering every team that plays against Engerland.Sadly I think some of the people camping in my group are football fans, we are camping at Team Langoustine, I know they have a Marquee and TV which I guess will have the Horrid game on it, So I will attempt to avoid it if possible. I booked myself some Grandstand seats this year so I may sit it out there.
Are matches scheduled over the LM weekend? Being as I don't follow the sport one bit I've no idea?

I forgot that that football think is once every 4 years rather than annually like real sporting events still it is a pity that it is not all over in 24 hours rather than drag on for several weeks boring the majority of the population to tearsgrumpy said:

And we (me and grumpy) in the TL site so know the tent is knuckle dragger night on the sat night lol
Sounds like we have some real sport snobs amongst us, football is very popular amongst any crowd of men/boys and it is a bit churlish to knock that fact and almost heresy for an English person to cheer against an England team, whatever the sport !
Remember it is possible to be a petrol head and a football fan at the same time !
Just don't look at the TV screens and turn up the volume in your earphones playing RLM.

Here's a link to explain to those obsessed with football how the rest of us feel about it. Personally I can't wait until the end of the World Cup because I get a couple of weeks of quiet before the next never-ending all-encompassing football season kicks off and takes over all media and surrounding conversations again.
