Liber-t tag location in a 911

Any tips before I make a cock-up, or just follow the instructions?

I am going to get one myself next few weeks, best place as per web site in the rear view mirror area front windscreen.

In front of the rear view mirror, on the passenger side. Set so that the tag can be slid off the mounting towards the passenger side window rather than the mirror stopping the tag sliding off the mount.

Twigged that may be a problem, just needs mounting what looks like upside down so it slides left.
May yet fit a Le Mans 24h sun strip so need to think about that too!

Mines just behind the mirror to the left - it's always worked fine.

I have more problems in the Leon, where it never seems to work

Why wait so long and risk it not arriving in time for it's intended use?
They're only about 2/month to use - in the months you use them - so order it now to be sure you have it in plenty of time.

Same place as my Skoda a Porsche is no different it's still a car!

Last year I left mine in the ashtray, then held it up to the windscreen when going through until it beeped, then returned it to the ashtray.

Worked every time.

Same here, never had a problem

Works fine in the Ultima behind a plastic sun screen and with steep screen angle

Same place as my dart tag, behind the rear view mirror in fact they are identical and we swap ours for the dart tag.

NB they do not work on heat reflective windscreens e.g. Renaults

If your car has a quick clear windscreen don't put it so that the elements obscure the tag as it could block the signal at the peage as that could be fun if you use the reserved lane and you have French drivers behind and you think that the tag is not working and need to reverse out, someone I know did that, it was not me of course

If you end up with it not working (Leon experience again) they have a barcode scanner on the toll booth, and there is a barcode on the back of the tag.

Blimey, every day is a school day. That would certainly saved one of our group a whole load of frustration, embarrassment and general shoutyness from the natives queuing up behind him last year !!!!

My mate, reversed back and went to the manned booth they took the tag and it worked fine then told him it was the windscreen causing the problem, so when he goes to France in his eurobox he now knows what to do, go through the first peage through a manned booth just in case there is a problem then after that he uses the un-manned reserved lane

The only problem I have seems to French registered cars driving REALLY close behind to make it really difficult for the stupid Englishman to reverse because he's obviously in the wrong lane.

Until the barrier goes up and off I go....
