Scrutineering Monday - Recommendations?

For the first time I may be able to visit this on Monday. Any recommendations from those with more experience? I'm planning on getting the train in from La Suze. Should we head for the cathedral area or is there somewhere else that we need to go?
We'll be very appreciative of any useful advice.
