Hi all

We are travelling down from Carlisle wed afternoon for ferry early Thursday morning.

So we are wanting a reasonable hotel or b&b within an hour from ferry port.

Need nice secure parking and a nice pub tea so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Even if someone can give us a nice town or something close by so we can search ourselves..

Thanks
J

Try the Hampshire Hog at Petersfield or the Brookfield Hotel at Emsworth, not sure what you want in terms of "secure" parking but you won't be parking on the street at either of these.

Try the Holiday Inn (might be a Village Inn) in Southsea. Its near the sea front, a short walk from Gunwafe Key (resturants etc), has its own car park and is only a short blast from the Ferry.

The Ibis on Winston Churchill Avenue in Portsmouth will be advertised as having a secure car park - it is a gated area with a high fence but it isn't in the nicest part of town so probably best avoided.

Try Cosham and Havant, they're just off Portsmouth Island and will probably have a few places.

I've stayed at that Ibis also, it was circa £6 a day to park. But as stated is gated, so worth the peace of mind. Again its only a short walk to Gunwafe.

Saturday lunchtime I was parked on spencer street, not sure which one Dhaka is but yes am sure there is an Indian round the corner.

Shame your on a different crossing. Which camp you on?

Just asked the wife where the Dhaka is and yes I remember now I was parked up briefly to show a friends dad the car.

Looked very good!
Staying at Tertre Rouge. The first of our group set off yesterday in a motorhome for a gentle amble down and then set up camp when the gates open.
Where are you?
