Hi Folks,

1st LM24 this year and rather excited. Given I have the GA passes, are there any recommendations of where to stand to enjoy the action around the course? I'm camping at Beasejour and with such a large circuit its difficult to know where to start / where I'll be able to get to.

Many Thanks!

There's a good view of the Porsche curves from just off the Beaujour campsite, however you can only see a little of the track and will not want to be there too long as a result. I found it was good to watch the historic cars from last year as their narrower tyres made them slide around them a bit, so there was a bit of drama to watch.

It's interesting to stand opposite the pits for a while as you see the cars coming in for tyres, fuel, service and repairs but you will be several people deep and looking through a fence your side and again their side.

After this down just immediately before the Dunlop bridge there is a little gap between the grandstand and the bridge that offers a nice view of the esses there. It's just a little on down past the museum from the grandstands opposite the pits in the main area, so not too far to walk.

If you go on past the Dunlop bridge towards Tetre Rouge there may be a better view back on this area but I cannot be sure - I have photos from my time before last in 2007 from there that look reasonable but I don't remember walking there! I've slept a few times since 2007 though!

Have a wonder on the Friday after you've looked in the pits and there's not too many people around the track to get an idea of where's where.

Places worth watching from are...

Start/finish straight. Get there well in advance and get a good spot.

Then walk to Tertre Rouge via dunlop and the esses.

When the sun goes down hop on a shuttle bus, walk (don't!) drive or cycle to Arnage, be amazed for a bit then head to Mulsanne. More general amazement.

Then go to bed - or don't.

Porsche curves for sunrise then up past the ford chicane for then end.

Or something wink

If you are feeling adventurous you could always engage in some night time Mulsanne Straight action..

Have fun

I like to watch the start from the esses. At dusk (say 9pm onwards) go opposite the pits and watch the evening settel. Youll need earplugs or headphones, vut you can see the pit action plus watch the big screens there.

After midnight head over to tetre rouge for dawn. This is as far as you can go, so head back (catch the morning train if it helps) back to the bottom of the pits, then head back

Or alternatively without a general entrance ticket get in the car and drive to the field behind the Chinese at Hunadieres which is a good base for Mulsanne black ops, alternatively head for the Hotel on the 2nd chicane which is a great point to view from.

We usually watch on Saturday anywhere between the Ford chicanes and Tetre Rouge, it is a long race so there is plenty of time to watch different corners. At night you definitely want to see Arnage, depending on your transport/route you might want to stop at the Porsche Curve or Mulsanne. The Sunday I have always spend on start/finnish where you can watch te race on the big screens, see some pitstip action before the finish and podium.
