Well the new fencing around the sites certainly helped.

New security team seem to be better than in previous years.
However, they were letting the local 3.14's in around lunchtime on Sunday to rummage around.

Got back after the race, to find neighbouring pitch saying that the 3.14's were about to lift everything off my pitch.
He told them to do one.

The car is on the pitch, groundsheet, picnic table, pasting table, cookers, kettles, chairs, cool boxes, food
Etc etc etc It is obvious that the pitch is not abandoned.

Security was gone by 4pm. And the vultures descended.

Short of packing everything Sunday morning, any better ideas?

Shame isn’t it? We didn’t see any this year but has packed up camp by about 11AM Sunday.

Last year we saw them all rummaging through about 4.00 on the Sunday so took ourselves out of the equation this year.

Why do the security finish so early and let the 3.14's in?

I understand they provide a bit of a "service" but why not Monday/Tuesday?

Last year at Tertre Rouge the guards left at 16:00 and the 3.14 keys entered the premisses at 16:01. This year I left the campsite at 14:30 and listened to the remainder of the race on the radio.
So can't tell how late the barstewards entered this year.

Also, maybe a first at Tertre Rouge, (not something to be happy about): while brushing my teeth sunday morning a guy next to me complained about being robbed. Apparently he and 3 mates were robbed of all their European money and cards. Pound notes where left behind.

Handing in a countermarker from Mulsanne/Arnage 2009 is not really 'security', is it? There should be a better way.

Saw a few kicking around Sunday PM but Bleu Nord was open to anyone on foot all weekend.

'Security' still seemed to be on the gate to near enough midnight last night which was weird.

Houx still had security when I left at 8am this morning, no real issues that I saw at all there.

I've been at Maison blanche each year for many years (but couldnt go this year for various reason)

We've seen afew things disappear and last year we let some young British lads have drinks with us one evening

They nicked some phones and random stuff, sad but our own fault for being so trusting

I don't take anything worth nicking and rely on going in large groups and making friends with neighbours

I must say I was very, very glad for the 24/7 manned security and fencing around the PH reserved section of Bleu Nord. As we were returning to through the main bit of BN after the race there were already a few dodgy looking vans prowling around!
It was so nice not to have the hassle of needing to lock literally everything in the car when going off site.

The other benefit was a complete abscence of campsite hooliganism within our compound - outside I noticed 3 tyre fires and later heard that some pissed-up golf buggy pilots had hit and substantially damaged someone's new XF before doing a runner...

When I left around 6:30-7:00 this morning, Beausejour still had security on the main entrance, although they looked pretty uninterested.

No problems on the Speed Chills campsite there either, although I did hear rumours of a punch up Saturday night, but I was at Arnage. I should say that the Speed Chills staff were very helpful and friendly and really did give some good service.

I had my wallet stolen by a pick pocket whilst watching the drivers parade Friday night. Wallet was in a pocket with a Velcro closer, so not easily accessible. An English lad lent over my shoulder, jostled early little whilst pretending to watch the parade, whilst a lad to my left I guess lifted my wallet. It wasn't until a short while later I realised what had occurred. Been to lemans for thirty years, heard all the horror stories regarding tents broken into, etc, never thought the parade was dodgy! Does boil your piss! They most annoying aspect was the fact that it was a fellow Brit doing the robbing.

Which site?

As was mentioned Houx had security until this morning.

Our neighbours on Expo apparently had a phone stolen on Friday night, although we did wonder if they were so far under the influence they had forgotten where they left it!

Never personally had a problem up until this year. Had my wallet lifted during the pit walk.

When I reported to the Information stand, there was a man saying how his wallet, passport, phone had all gone.

They were meant to ring me, but I went back in person on Sunday and they had my wallet. Hope others weren't waiting for a phone call. Cards and ID left but probably with noted down details. All cash gone.

Must have been 30+ wallets easily in the back of the stand. They said one stash was found in one of the toilet blocks emptied out.

Never had an issue in 8 years though.

A few years back two of our lads had bikes nicked from Karting Nord. Other than that, not much bad has happened.

Had one of those folding table and chair sets taken. I did leave it on the grass under the back of the car but only because it had broken and I had yet to take it to the skip. I'd have loved to have seen thier faces when they realised they had lugged it away only to find out it was useless! It went Saturday Afternoon in Maison Blanche. I also think someone went through the tent as the door was partially unzipped but nothing of value was left there anyway.

We camped on Beausjour it was all very tame on there this year, toilets were very clean, showers always hot and security stayed till 09.00 on Monday. Just a shame that its a bit of a trek to the pits.

All Good, Don and I got split up on a roundabout in Lisieux and lost each other, I ended up having a solo trip down, (sat nav took me in a Sideways direction and Don had headed south) frown
