But did we enjoy it?
Discussion
It's a real shame that there are a number of posts up on here about issues that have spoiled what should be a great weekend for us all.
Maybe we could lighten the mood......?
This was my 5th successive trip to Le Mans (having discovered it a bit late, I'm 50 now) and overall, I had a ball. Having a great roadtrip in the sunshine with your mates in super countryside, meeting up with old chums on the camp site (the excellent TL for me), the once a year under canvas, the cars, the racing, the beer, the atmosphere and of course, the noise!
No one asks me to do anything, be anywhere on time or suggests what I can wear! Time is irrelevant. A complete tonic to 'normal' life.
The odd dick***d will always try and spoil it for the majority but try as they might, I still love it and will be back for no.6 next year.

1st time for me this year, stayed at Airtrack and we are already on the priority list for next year as a few people tipped us over the weekend that it was the best one going but hard to get on
i loved it
but i also think WEC@Spa is well worth attending for alot less money (im sure some of you will do both)

but i also think WEC@Spa is well worth attending for alot less money (im sure some of you will do both)First time for me and I thought it was superb. I saw some things I thought were a bit off like loads of glass being thrown in the road, but I knew not to take my car out on Friday night.
Met some great people and thought the race was superb apart from my no 7 going out in the night and also the Zeod not making it past a few laps. As a motor racing event it's the best thing I've ever been to. I'll be back for 2015 and the return of Nissan.

My 9th year however some of my mates have been going over 30 consequatively!
We stay at Airtrack which whilst more expensive than some has great facilities and is a stones throw from the track. We had paddock passes through a friend and was in the thck of it Saturday night and wondered around the AM garage and a couple of smaller teams pits.
No problems, Friday is the highlight for us when we have a great (but expensive) meal in town followed by the parade followed by the night out in town until very early Saturday morning.
Managed to meet quite a few drivers again in the parade and I always find them extreemly friendly and willing to chat to Le Mans fans.
Already waiting for the date for next year to be announced although I've decided to take my M5 rather than the camper we've taken down for so many years and go back to basics to some degree (booked in Airtrack of course!)

2nd time at the race, loved every minute of our week there.
We stay in a forest campsite 45 mins from the track so avoid the hassles of unruly behaviour
Even managed to get the wife to go to the circuit with me and our 2 young sons on the Saturday night.
Both the atmosphere and the weather were amazing.
An unforgettable holiday.

Not great for me personally this year, being the group organiser dealing with the Bookings, banking, Hotel and ferry crossings was a nightmare, trouble is no one else stepped up to the plate!
Had a couple of car issues on the Friday which put a downer on the event for me as I was really looking forward to that bit, one of the French Harley out riders got knocked off his bike to in the Calvacade to the drivers parade and I sat waiting for the AA with a blown engine fan relay
Had a good time overall but I wont be doing the organising again, our group has got too big at 28!

28 is just mental! We have a relatively big group but we have a well-oiled compromise now where we all pay for our camping pitches individually, then one person collects peoples money up front for a group booking of grandstand tickets so we all sit together. No money up front, no grandstand ticket, no ifs no buts.I've tried to negotiate discounts buying everything together but the answer from the tour operators is always the same - 'we always sell all the tickets we have so there is no need to discount'. This year it was actually cheaper to get the camping from one operator and the grandstands from another.
5th consecutive year for me. The v70 was packed up to the brim couldn't of got anything else in! Took the other half with me again this year who has become addicted, whilst I got my head down for a few hours she stayed up. Got alot of thumbs up for the lights and siren on the Volvo too. Apologies if it annoyed anyone but didn't use it at night so we didn't wake anyone up

Been to the 24 hour on 06,08,10 classic in 12 and back to the 24 hour this year and was the best one so far. for me they seem to get better and better. the 24 hour was bloody busy but I prefer it to the classic as there is more involvement with the racing side than the classic for me
