With Le Mans Classic just around the corner wondered if anyone can shed any light on some info on our campsite, Bleu Nord. We have stayed at Beasjour before and it's a relaxed large site but a trek. Obviously Bleu is a lot nearer and no doubt noisier! But interested to know how particular the authorities are with the marked camping spots? And are there many hook ups for water? And how many toilets blocks are there? In fact does anyone have a detailed map of the site?!

Cheers

Just had the info pack through, but as in the dark as you are on this one ! Wifi site, phone and gadget charging points in the marquees, but not a clue on other facilities ! Allocated pitches, 2 cars 4 people and we are next to each other so it's a good start !

Good evening,
never went to Bleu Nord, we were in Karting Nord in 2012. Our tent was about 50 meters from the circuit. Approximately the same as Bleu Nord but on the other side of the track.
The toilets/showers were few and sometimes far away than some tents, there was no electrical connexion except on the toilets/showers.
During the night noise from race cars was constant but what a joy trying to sleep hearing the engines roar !

This year we are on Bleu Nord and we have two placements with two tents, two vehicles and 6 persons.

Cheers

There will be water of some description, with toilet blocks, but think that will be about all. They will be fairly strict with plots, as they only have a limited few campsites open to spectators. 7x5m pitches.

There is this info : http://ticket.lemans.org/aires-d-accueil-sport-mec...

I'm with PH/1st tickets in their Bleu Nord site.

Is Bleu Nord split up in to different areas or what?

Completely new to this.

We stayed in bleu nord in 2012. First off, if this year is anything like last time you don't need to worry about noise. Unlike the 24hr, most people will be tucked up in bed by midnight and there's no late night techno techno techno techno to listen to.

2012 there was one gents block, one ladies block and one shower cabin with about 5 showers in it, all near the entrance. All were cleaned about 4 times a day and they stayed clean all weekend. Queues weren't too bad, although i did have to poo in the empty ladies block once - i blame the red sausages for that though.

There's a stand pipe near the toilets for water. Pitches are numbered and slightly confusingly so. Take rock pegs as the ground is stony.

Yup I stayed there in 2012 too and would agree with everything Spanky said. They were very particular about ensuring you stayed inside your pitch too.

I'm on BSJ this year due to procrastination by some of my group as Blue Nord was full

I was on (public) Bleu Nord for the 24hrs the other weekend and would make an educated guess that everything has just been left there (assuming cheaper to leave all the fencing, etc in place than take it all down/put it all back up) so...

- Toilet/shower blocks at the main entrance and in middle of site, outside 1st tickets compound (which had it's own facilities inside). Queues weren't actually too bad, with shower queues about 20 long in the morning but non-existent when I showered around 11/12.

- There were water taps next to the toilets/showers but didn't see any elsewhere. These were handy for me though and not being a tap-spotter can't say I went looking for them!

- All pitches were clearly marked and people seemed to be keeping to them. There's a map of Nord in the Beer Mountain map room that looks to be about right though I'd say 1st Tickets area was larger, including half if not all of Parcell D as well as C. NOTE: Swap the row numbers down the side for row letters. I was in A68 and that was the very top row, backing on to the airfield (row 1 on the map).

Cheers guys. Bit concerned we may not have enough space on our plot now if they enforce pitches rigorously! 7 pitches 7 vehicles and 16 people! Eek! Anyway will have to deal with that nearer the time. Are you aloud camp fires in Nord Bleu?

Pitches are marked 5x7 so the only way to get more space is to cross the line into your neighbour's space. Don't they'd be too happy about that. Having said that, we had 3 pitches together and got 3 cars, 4 4-man tents and a gazebo in them. If all your pitches are together you should be fine.

Unless you're going very silly you should be fine, just think about how to best use the space when you get there. Unlike random neighbours you know who owns which car so can block one-another in and get the cars in to quite a small chunk of the space.

Fires aren't permitted on any Le Mans campsite and if you build a 40ft bonfire you might have issues. BBQs are permitted though and we've never had any issues throwing a few logs on one after we've eaten, the sun's gone down and the temperature dropped.

I seem to recall no problems burning anything we could get our hands on when we went to the classic. Ok, not quite anything, but wood, charcoal, //j17's chair smile
