Can someone kindly explain to me why the 1955-winning D-type is in grid 3- for more than the first time? It is once again placed with much later cars, like a 1960 DB4 GT and so on. Yet we have 1956 cars in grid 2. Curious to say the least.

I don't think it actually is,might be that I have looked closely enough but I can't see it in the entry list for Grid 3 but there is a D-Type in Grid 2. Hopefully just an error in the text rather than the actual race.

Sorry, my mistake, I just looked again and there is a D-Type in each class. Could it be that the car was updated and entered again in later years and is still in that spec? I don't know enough about the D-Type history to know if that might be complete rubbish though.

I think most, if not all, of that info is in the updated Le Mans Classic app - worth downloading if you haven't already done so. Don't know if it needs a data connection or if the info is all available off-line though.

Frustratingly it isn't available for my phone - Nexus 5 - event though it is for other Android devices. A shame as it was helpful 2 years ago.

As this event is all about Classic / Vintage shouldn't we all just print it off and carry a "programme" as such, not all this modern, electronic malarkey wink
