Very quick question, heading to Le Mans for the first time this year, and staying in BSJ, I've noticed on the ACO site that it offers parking as an additional fee after camping. I've got 1 car, and 1 tent for 2 of us, so do I need to purchase this parking separately, or is it included in the pitch allocation?
I've had a hunt around for an answer, but not found anything definitive.

Counting down the days to go after Silverstones awesome race.
Thanks in advance smile

BSJ is in theory 1 car + 1 tent per 5x7m pitch.

Get there early or you may find yourself squeezed in on less than that. Some folk who get there on Monday or Tuesday seem to stake a claim the size of the New Forest.

Last year security went uber-strict and were searching cars for contraband. The resulting queues were horrendous especially for those poor sods arriving on Friday when it was SCORCHIO!

In reality space at BSJ especially in outlying parts, is generous and largely unregulated. This and proximity to porsche curves viewing bank makes up in part for its drawbacks (mainly the distance to the village)

You won't need to buy additional parking, you just park your car next to your tent, its included in the price of camping.

I've just had this reply from ACO regarding pitch size etc which may also be of help.

Dear Sir,

Our camping pitches are 35 sqm and you will need one ticket (= 1 pitch) per vehicle.

Then, as long as your tents fit in the surface you have booked, you can put several tents on each pitch.

Hope that helps

Thanks guys smile knew i could count on PH.

Planning on arriving Wednesday, so hopefully should be some space left.

Ill make sure to check what counts as contraband to avoid that problem then atleast,

On BSJ they usually check for glass beer bottles. its completely pointless as you go to the Super U on Friday to buy boxes of beer so you can make your Beer Mountain !

Checking for bottles seems to have become a new Le Mans tradition. On Mon/Tues they check, people then complain and the ACO clarify to their staff that it's NOT a problem. We normally arrive Wed/Thurs and have never been checked for bottles.
