Who's not on a crossing? Continent dwellers post here
Discussion
This year will be my 7th year going to LM without crossing the channel. Anyone else going there from the continent? Where from, which route, what are you travelling in?
In my Frankfurt Germany days I would drive the whole thing by car in one go, leaving on Wednesday morning and arriving exhausted Wednesday evening. Since having the motorhome and living in NL, it's more pleasant as I arrive to Calais and meet up with UK friends who have sailed or Eurotunneled over and drive down together.
This year I'm leaving straight from work on Tuesday, we'll kip in the motorhome overnight in Calais and be fresh for the journey on Wednesday. Much more civilised, but a part of me does miss the madness

Not a continental dweller but in Paris on business from the Sunday until the Wednesday morning. TGV to Le Mans in an hour seems a better option than returning to the UK to collect a car to drive down to pretty much where I'd just come from !
Hopefully the other oiks turn up at some point on the same day with tents and beer, if not I'm going to have some issues !!

Prague is a LONG way! I used to live in Frankfurt so back in those days would have been able to meet up with you for that leg but am not there anymore (great lot of help huh!)

I'll be driving from Switzerland to Belgium in the green 997RS, catching up with some friends there and then continuing to Le Mans via Calais - Boulogne s Mer - Rouen etc, keeping the UK pilgrims company.
When are you travelling from Calais to Le Mans? If it is Wednesday morning then you may well see us on the way - motorhome and a dark blue Merc SL travelling together. I'll keep an eye out for an obvious green 997RS and give you a honk honk!! Out of our group of 17 we have 2 people driving from near The Hague in the nethlands, 2 people driving from Copenhagen, and to top it off 2 people coming from New Zealand!
The Kiwi's landed in London yesterday, couple of days to acclimatise and then picking up their hire car on Tuesday. Epic commitment!!!
