Hi folks,

Just found out the Fiancee is away on her sisters hen do this weekend, so i have house to myself and i am dog sitting my folks westie.

So i can enjoy the full gamut of 24hr eurosport coverage.

Any other non attendees doing the full race throughout the day in the background?

Set up tent and barbeque in the garden and set about cremating some of these;

Drag TV into the garden, Tune in to Radio Le Mans, crack open a warm beer, job jobbed!

Get the WEC app, think it is about £15 but you get full live uninterrupted coverage and Hindhaugh and Goodwin commentating (plus others no doubt). Has to be worth it, especially seeing as Eurosport are bound to have the same adverts on, including adverts telling you that you can watch Le Mans that weekend whilst you are in fact, trying to watch LM and getting annoyed that they are advertising it rather than showing it! They also have enhanced timing pages and if I recall correctly, a cool little track map showing where certain cars are at any given time.

In fact can you get things like that on a laptop, at least I could connect the laptop up to the 40" tv, happy days. Think I did it on the ipad last year.

I may actually have it, i had an app for last year, but think that was on my samsung, so will need it for ipad.

I dont mind the eurosport ads, but its annoying when something happens and they don't show a decent repeat.

For the last 2 years, my son and I have done some father/son bonding by staying up and watching this all night...

1 month Eurosport access - tick
cheap (it has to be those cheapo stubby bottles) French lager - tick
bread rolls & bacon - tick
Jars of salsa - tick
bags of Nachos - tick
pull out sofa-bed - tick
sleeping bags - tick

If the weather is good, I might even camp out in the garden and watch on the laptop through the night for the full Le Mans effect smile

how old is he? Giving my 7 year old the chance to see how he likes it with a view to taking him next year (which I know he would love anyway and is totally different, but feels a bit like an apprenticeship this way!)

I did this last year and watched a combo of the app (on Apple Airplay through Apple TV and Eurosport HD in my mancave garage with BBQ / Pizza / muchos lager - was a great drinking LeMans viewing experience!

Seriously though - the App is great and particularly that you can Airplay it to a big screen.

Some of our set-up last year. The red wine was rather better than the camp-site wine box we had the year before.

He's 15, so he'll probably want some of my beer this year! I suggest getting in a few Lego kits to keep your son occupied when he gets a little bored as one of the other posters suggested...

Yup - looking forward to it bounce

Kinky Junior has a footy tournament in the morning, so I'm praying we'll be home in time for the build-up.

problem is the airplay thing costs a packet.

The app needs to be renewed each year I am sure. Can you get the app for a laptop, which I can HDMI to my tv? Or are apps only for ipads and tablets/smartphones and the like?

I've had my tickets booked since January. Camping in Houx Annexe, the whole gig. I've not been for several years due to a bad back but at the beginning of this year I though, fk it, go for it with a pocket full of Tramadol, Gabapentin, Amitriptilin etc, I'll be fine. No such luck. The second disc in my back carries on collapsing regardless, leaving me immobile. So in Febuary I have an MRI scan, and take it along to my specialist, who immidiately books me in for surgery. And when I say immediately, I was under the knife within 10 days. NHS at it's best, but months and months of painful recuperation and zero chance of a trip the Le Sarthe anytime soon. So my loving dearest brother fell on the tickets like a starved vulture, and is now striping up is Crimson Red steed in readiness for the trip.
I get to sit at home and talk to the goldfish.
Mind you, with all these pain killers at least it's an interesting conversation.

Pics below so that you all feel REALLY sorry for me!

Getting ready for my 3rd year trying to go through all 24 hours, managed it once last year and cannot wait for it all to start again, fridge will be stocked to the brim with drink and junk food, as well as a late night dominos order!
