Hi all,

I've decided today to cycle to Le Mans - may prove to be a rash decision but bound to be an adventure! I've never even been to Le Mans before.

I need a special favour from a kind PH soul... Can someone take a small bag over for me with my jeans/shoes etc. in it to help me out?

I'm based in Lingfield but can easily get to London to drop the bag off if that helps.
I'm staying at the ph official camping Bleu Nord so I guess if the bag can get there or the Pie and Piston it would be grand. I'm going out on the overnight boat from Caen on Thursday night and will be cycling most of Friday to get there I imagine.

Cheers,

Dave

Holy st ! That's brave. Shouldn't you be setting off ?

Where is the 'What's the hardest way to get to Le Mans' thread ?

How long are you staying?
Time for a ride while you are here?
Take care of your bike when you leave it.

I'm heading back on Monday, undecided yet if I'll ride back or could get the train, depending on weather and how I feel.

Sidcup is good, and I thank you sincerely!... but I'm not packed yet so I probably need someone who's leaving tomorrow or Thursday.

I am amassing stuff now.

We are leaving on Thursday, I work in London, and live in Guildford. Would be happy to help, plus we're taking a massive car!

Simon.

You're brave! I'm in central london and leaving friday am. If you want to drop off a bag on thursday night, I'll take it. I'll be in the pits (and probably parked there) during the race so you can pick your stuff up there. Funnily enough I own a bike shop so if you need gear for the journey you can order with me and pick it up as you drop off your bag.
All the best on your adventure,
D

Holy st!

I really wish I could help but in my 2 seater we are fully loaded.

But I just wanted to wish you well and I hope the trip down is a good one.
Good luck.

Many thanks all for the good wishes, I'm working my through getting packed now so I have a bag ready to take. Still hoping for a local drop-off so if think you can help, do get in touch.

For those interested in my progress, I have a thread in the pedal-powered area which I'll try and keep updated:
The day I cycled to Le Mans...

Thanks sidekickdmr - very thoughtful! but I can't do 4:20 today (wife taken our youngest to Legoland so I have to do the school run for the others).

Not sure where you are currently. I'm going to be at Dartford crossing around 12 tomorrow and assuming the bag isn't too big I should be able to squeeze it in.
