Sure I'm not the only one!

Great traffic free cruise back from the TL site yesterday across to the coast for lunch, late afternoon sailing back to Blighty and home before it got dark.

It all seems so long ago alreadyfrown TL as ever put on a great site, LM didn't seem as crowded this year but perhaps that's just me, mixed weather was sort of ok although the monsoon on the way down was interesting. Great to see a change in the winners, got to be good for the event.

So now to a ton of messages and a few days of normality. I'm only a novice of six trips but it does sort of get to you doesn't it?

It still feels like I'm wearing a hat, it's after 9 and I've not had a beer, and it's frankly far too quiet in this office...

I'm sat at work with all the "Normal" people they have no idea what went on at a race track in the middle of France. To be fair I don't know what happened either but it was bloody good fun !!

Can't wait to start planning for next year now.

first time at LM and back at work this morning after 11 hours on the road yesterday - really wasn't ready for how knackered I feel today

My son, who did half the driving, is clearly smarter than I am, as he booked today off work as well

Lasting impression of the journey is how smooth and empty the French roads are, and how courteous and disciplined the French drivers are - how is it possible to cruise unhindered for hundreds of miles at an indicated 85mph on a two-lane motorway? In the UK, I reckon the average speed is 20mph lower, despite there being at least one extra lane - UK non-PH'er drivers are crap....

Very good week, apart from the rain getting through our tired tent on Thursday night / Friday morning - mopping up at 3:00am isn't my idea of fun

Nice to have some food that wasn't a burger last night.....

Back last night, in the office at 8am today. On the plus side, the valetor turned up earlier so he now has the pleasure of cleaning my bug splattered car, returning it to it's formed glory in record time biggrin

Back in work tomorrow, 14hour trip Sunday night into Monday. Wanted to miss most of the traffic Monday am but seems from other it wasn't that bad?.

Catching highlights and reminiscing - and then trying to explain to all those that cannot comprehend an actual race went on for 24hours, it puts into perspective when you tell them that's nearly a whole F1 season in one day!

Ding on this - got back at 7pm after leaving just after 9am - a long drive but started off with some twisties rather than just a28 all the way, so it wasn't too bad.
I actually woke before my alarm at 7am this morning, much the same as the previous days really so I guess the body clock adjusted to 'tent time' already :-)

Left Bleu Nord around 1700 Sunday and stopped off in Paris en route home for a decent bed, and, surprisingly, a very good curry.
Got home to Lux on Monday about 1300 local.

Back in the office today and all my French colleagues know Porsche won as LM makes normal news, but they've no idea of the experience.

I consider myself very lucky to have a great group of mates to be at Le Mans with. We always have a great laugh.

(BTW, if you were on the tram from Republique to Antares on Friday night at about 10pm, I'm sorry for my behaviour!)

Oh, and I'm knackered.... just off for a triple espresso to keep me going!
