For the last couple of years a number of PH'ers have headed for the same part of BJS. Usually this culminates in either a chilled or mental Sunday night, depending on the personalities involved....

We've seen campfires, excursions into the forrest for a fire wood with a Corsa wheel-barrow. We've seen the AA stand back and watch the ex-rally engineer try to breath life back into the TVR (sadly not with success - Phi - hope it's returning this year)....

General camaraderie in other words...

We've generally aimed for the spot below. Feel free to join us.... smile

Ah, then we've been a water-bomb's throw from you the whole time! We are always based just north on the other side of the 'ruisseau'. I can confirm that Sunday is a blast down there in the killing fields. Getting pulled behind a car on a tarp, being jumped over by a bloke on a scooter, getting the discovery stuck in the ditches... Precious memories smile

Would love to join you this year but I think Phil, ain't going unfortunately, so I've had to make alternative arrangements, ending up in the Team langoustine enclosure this year.

and its true nothing is as fast or good off road as a rental corsa biggrin

I am also staying in the killing fields. Talking of killing fields at BSJ we once saw Tiff Needell nearly get wiped out by a crazy Dutch guy doing reverse Donuts and J turns in a rental Zaffy! There was no real control of the car, pretty standard really. biggrin He was disgusted...by people using FWD rubbish and the handbrake.

I tend to go just below Grigne Charles so the ditch is behind me, although given the rain they have had this year I am not sure that is wise.

I can't be the only one who thinks all of that is a bit chavvy, can I?
It looks like the contents of the local McD's car park on a Saturday night have been emptied into an LM campsite. Doing a handbrake turn on a live road, with oncoming traffic? Really?

I've been going for over a decade, and every time I see antics like this I find myself hoping (in vain) that they aren't Brits. We're lucky that we're able to camp in an area which is centrally-located, but free of destructive nonsense like this.

In 2007 it was The Swimming Fields - I hope the recent weather doesn't cause a repeat for those of you staying there this year.

God, it was sooo wet that year. Didn't have to queue for a shower, tho! And a free waterbed at night as the streams flowed under the tent. I still haven't dried off...

Yep I remember that year the centre of the field was empty wondered why when 2 cars turned up at dusk and thought eh there is space in there and got immediately stuck. Then they tried towing out with a farm vehicle type thing and that got stuck then another bigger one turned up and pulled it off and the other cars.

So beware the spaces in the middle of BSJ there could be dragons there smile

Looking at the weather, you might be right!

Forecast to rain upto Friday and cloudy Saturday! Good news is, Sunshine is forecast Sunday!

Slightly worried about the van getting stuck now, it gets stuck on a dry tarmac hill, so boggy campsite might see the old girl buried! boxedin

You are not alone. Just look out for this flag and camp elsewhere.....

This will be my 5th year in Beasuejour and it would be great to have just one year without any trouble! Any ideas where's best for a more community spirit rather than fridge-freezers being smashed up next to my car and caravans being set alight?

I realise I keep booking into the same campsite and it's 100% my fault.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers smile
