Meets/events around Le mans
Discussion
Ok, it's a few years since I've been to Le Mans, but I'm taking my Furore over again this year. Regarding meets/events all I've seen anything about for this year is the St Saturnin show which I believe is a nightmare to get in/out of due to traffic?
What else is on? Last time I went (2009) there was a meet at a cafe/bar somewhere around North of Mulsanne straight & another (quieter!) event at a small town a bit past the South end of Mulsanne straight,IIRC a guy called Tony with a D type Jag who is a PH member living in France was involved with the organisation of that one?
Any info on anything going on this year much appreciated!

Lowdrag (Tony) is that particular gentleman and it was a display type affair in the middle of Mulsanne village but I believe he's no longer affilliated. There's something going on in Arnage I think but I can't find the details just this minute.
There's always some interesting metal outside the Hotel de France throughout the week if you want a run a little further out of town.

Unless your car is totally allergic to traffic then don't write-off the CBW as the queues aren't too bad, and you'd definitely get a wave-in from the 'bouncer' selecting participants.

An amazing place - we are staying there from the Thursday with a group of 9 other Astons http://www.lhoteldefrance.fr/

The car is quite happy in traffic - it's me that's allergic to it, particularly if blasting with sunshine or raining - anything in between is ok! http://www.lhoteldefrance.fr/

How far is Hotel de France, looks like about 50km?

Definitely looks worth a visit! The meet in Arnage is on the official Le Mans website:

No idea where abouts they are going to display about 150 cars, unless they are going to use the street parking for our regular coffee/breakfast stop. Arnage is hard to park in at the best of times so this could make it neigh on impossible.

Did anyone go to the Virage de Mulsanne meet last year?
It seems activities in mulsanne have moved from the square onto the straight between mulsanne corner and arnage. Good use of the road as they close it anyway.
I assume you turn up and park along the straight in addition to whatever else is arranged for display.
Normally do St Saturnin event, but might give this a go instead for a change.

We happened to find this in 2014. Got guided into some staged photo area infront of a pictured background. Picture came out quite well and survived the drive back which now hangs on my wall in the office. We only got there towards the end but there were a few motors parked up on the roadside and displays in the Mulsanne hard standing near that barn thing. Might drop in after our usual beer on Mulsanne in the afternoon.
