Hopefully there will be no call to use it, but those of us going to France might want to download this app:

That will make everyone safer, there is now an app for your phone.

Does it require data? I usually turn my data off when roaming to prevent any nasty shocks when I get the bill!

[Edit]It's not compatible with my relatively ancient phone either!

I'm not sure if I feel good that there's an app for TERROR or bad.

In my fathers day they kept half a Crown in their hat brim in case of emergencies, now we have an app for that

Cheeseburgers were a penny back then!

This is a ridiculous app - I think it should be fairly apparent that a terrorism has just happened - I'd imagine the emergency services would be more on the ball than an app, and even if you were at ground zero I think a crowd of panicked people running past you might signal trouble ahead!? Put the smartphone down and look around! (He says, typing into his smartphone)

I think it is more for use in a town/city rather than a wide open event space - telling you to keep out of certain districts or off public transport.

Indeed, it's all very well and good to be aware of incidents when you're in front of a PC or near a TV, but when you're in the middle of watching a race or a game of football it's very hard to learn that info. The app isn't great as it requires you to have actually looked at the phone to find out, but at least it'll only give confirmed data rather than speculation (you hope!).
