I've just been told that Brittany Ferries have cancelled their Monday and Tuesday crossings this week to Le Havre due to industrial action. Hope no one is booked on.

They are moving people onto other crossing may involve a bit of travel but hopefully they will get out ok.

Notice how the French always attach their industrial action to a weekend. They should have a nice time with Thursday to Tuesday off work. I hope they get good weather...

I contacted Brittany ferries customer services and the La Harve route is the one most likely to be affected.. Not good news for those on that crossing, but reassuring for those on the other crossings next week. The Caen and the Cherbourg sailings are less likely to be affected for whatever reason..

Just had a text from Brittany Ferries advising that the Portsmouth to Cherbourg crossing on Tuesday is delayed...so the fast ferry will arrive at the same time as the slow one!

I have spoken to Brittany Ferries at 11.40 today Friday 10th June.

They have informed me it is a 1 day strike only and no further sailings will be affected. All boats will be in the right places and sailings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are not affected.

Now a 2 hour delay to the (originally) 0900 crossing on Tuesday from Portsmouth to Cherbourg (And maybe some other updates worth being aware of on the Brittany ferries update link helpfully posted above).

Going out should be ok but coming back could be a problem.

If it was this time next week then Brittany Ferries would have cancelled the sailing I'm on and given that everyone is piling back the same day it could be chaos...
