This is what the ACO have informed today.

- For entry to all camping areas at the circuit

- Plus anywhere within the Bugatti circuit area

Max permitted volume is 2 litres of beer or 1 litre of strong alcohol (incl wine) per person (not per car)

Glass not permitted

Over and above this amount , or any glass bottles, will be removed.

That's within the confines of the circuit I presume, rather than Bleu Nord/Sud, Beausejour etc?

The mail was from ACO forwarded to me by Speed Chills, believe it applies to all camping areas.

There is no mention of any alcohol restrictions/policy on the small print of my Houx camping ticket - is this a recently created policy or a knee-jerk reaction to the Euro 2016 Brit fkwits currently in France?

Would be interesting to see how this is being enforced?! Surely a few people will be caught out!

2 litres of beer per person -- Over what period of time?

Hour
Day
Weekend?

There's 250,000 people attend Le Mans - and around 100,000 Brits camping.. how are they hoping to police each and everyone?

If this applies to Bleu Sud then my plan of heading to Saumur on the way to pick up a couple of cases to take home is screwed...

Do we really expect the (usually uninterested) security guys to be enforcing this throughout the week? The access roads get busy enough as it is, with cars coming/going, and I just can't see how they will do this practically across the whole week, without causing complete mayhem.

This kind of thing (and the gas bottle situation) has been mooted pretty much every year I've been on other LM forums, and it always ends up being a complete non-issue.

2 litres of beer per person is the equivalent of 6 x 330ml 'dumpies'. One beer for each day I will spend in Houx!

Just spoke to Speedchills. They haven't had official confirmation from the ACO yet, so this isn't gospel.

I don't disagree. However, they haven't had it confirmed by the ACO yet so it's not gospel.

I asked on twitter and while the ACO confirmed the circuit policy, no mention at all of campsite related policies. Usal fun and games in terms of info-panic

Surely there is no way on earth this can be policed!

Imagine all these people arriving at campsites having to empty their vehicles and pack them again?

It simply wouldn't be feasible!

Houx Annexe have gotten sniffy at glass before purely for the mess it causes, but unless you give the gate staff a reason to take an interest they're usually too busy to check..

I seem to remember this being talked about for the past few years but not actually enforced.

I too think this crops up every year recently. On Beausejour they just had a cursory look in your boot on the way in, assuming you can manage to put a blanket or coat over your stash they weren't that keen. Hopefully they won't have got stricter.

They offer up similar rules every year and by weds they've given up trying to police it as it gets too busy.

Just cover up your beers to be safe and be pleasant to security as you enter.
