Bleu Nord Camping
Discussion
Hi there, awesome trip all in all, my second trip to Le Mans. I was in a grey Megane RS. Just thought I'd make a few comments on the camping...
It was much more civilised than when I stayed in 2013 - although still quite rowdy but enjoyable. The showers and toilets were much cleaner than last time which was a big plus.
The only downside being on arrival some French guys leaning into the car trying to pinch my mates phone out of his hands with the site staff there who didn't seem to care. Also the thieves that tried getting into various tents at 5am this morning (suceeding in some cases). I heard some guys on the site caught one of them and tie wrapped him to a chair! - good effort!!
Nothing in the way of checking cars on the way in so beer wine was not a problem.
All in all a great weekend just with the edge taken off by a few incidents.
Great to meet some really friendly people!

This was in the public BN camping i presume? You should consider the 1st Tickets/PH private camping to aboid oiks like that - just got back from my 2nd year on that site (thanks to a 5 hour delay on the tunnel) and its a great site and will likely be staying there again next year if fundage allows
Sounds like normal behaviour for Blue Nord. My first 2 trips to Le Mans were there, saw various issues on those trips, and then moved inside the circuit.
While no where is really safe from thieves, it has been better.
Glad to hear that the thieves when caught are subject to medieval practices :-) Bring back the stocks !

Yes this was in the public camping. I think I would do that next time. Still had a great time despite the small issues...

Does sound like a better option, still someone tried to get into my mates bag whilst we were watching the start (walking near the Dunlop Bridge) Hardly surprising given the number of people at the event but a shame you have to deal with that kind of behaviour at a motorsport event. While no where is really safe from thieves, it has been better.

We also had a fantastic time with PH/1sTickets on the Bleu Nord private site. Great neighbours, great atmosphere and the desserts with the food were a very welcome first too. Can’t recommend the site enough, we’ll be there again next year for sure. We stayed Sunday night and security were going round and round the fence all night so I slept very soundly, all in all very worth the additional spend

I did the public part - Bleu Nord in 2010 and the PH enclosure last year. Aside from getting what I can only describe as athletes foot (and a year later still have it) it was lovely to have a warm shower with good pressure rather than pouring cold water over myself (only for one day mind... was cold the rest of the time ffs) and have ice cold beer on tap in the tent. Much more civilised. Wont be going again but if I did Id stay in the PH enclosure for sure.
Stayed in the public camping as well, had a great first trip to Le Mans.
Certainly a bit lively, but a great buzz around the site. Some music and generators going on into the night, but nothing too bad.
Only major grievance was the number of toilets/showers onsite, 30 minute queue to take a s
t, then another 30 minutes to take a shower wasn't fun, they were kept fairly clean though.

You must've been unlucky with the showers, as I didn't have a single issue with temperature, other than needing to adjust mid way on some cubicles.Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
