Camera Flashes - Wed Eve on way to Le Mans
Discussion
For the last 2 years I have taken an 8pm tunnel crossing to get to Le Mans around 3.30am on the Thursday morning. We always take the same Autoroute direct to Le Mans through Rouen.
On at least 2 locations, a forward facing camera flashed and I was not speeding. It is particularly hard to speed in a Motorhome.
Did anyone else get flashed on the way to Le Mans, and in particular, does anyone know why I was flashed ?
The Motorhome is 2.85m high, so my guess is that perhaps it thought I was a truck, or perhaps it was just defective.

As the Fixed cameras are unlikely to result in any notifications until sometime in 2017, I do not expect to hear anything about it in the post.
However, a forward facing flash at night for someone who was doing the speed limit was a little unsafe.
I was flashed by at least two cameras on the way to Le Mans, so I would suspect both could not be faulty and possibly related to the height of the vehicle, as previous years in a lower vehicle (T5 camper) did not yield the same results.
I am driving that way again in August, we'll see if it happens again.

You were probably in an area maybe a viaduct or Aire where you were supposed to reduce your speed.Could have been for your safety due to possible crosswinds. Normal reductions from 110 Kph to 90Kph.There are a couple of these on the A28.
If we are talking fixed cameras that is, I'm afraid, rubbish. For example, the law on motorways is 130 kph or 110 kph if it is raining. Rain includes mist and fog. There is no way to change the camera settings for the lower limit, so it stays at 130 kph. Just how you got flashed at the speed you were doing is a mystery but take comfort in the fact that you have UK plates and they can't touch you. The UK refused to sign the intercountry agreement on the basis of the Data Protection Act.I know the viaduct speed restrictions well, as I have used this route 4 times a year for the past 10 years, for both Le Mans trips and family holidays to France.
It was not there, but much earlier on in the journey.
As I stated before, we were under the speed limit, the SatNav/GPS confirmed it should be a 130 kph area, we were doing about 110 kph.
