Is an hour before the end of the race early enough to miss the manic traffic? Normally stay Sunday night but this year it's not an option (bloody work)

Yes, assuming you've parked somewhere strategic (eg. near a campsite exit or on the road side (might be more security restrictions this year)) and are leaving from a back route (eg. round by the football stadium or down at the Porsche Curves) rather than trying to drive past the main exit.

yup, i left about 15 mins from the end last year and just drive straight out ( via porsche curves/arnage) .... and you can still listen to RLM quite some distance from the circuit too!

gonna stay till the end this year though!

I was in the same situation a few years ago...needed go from LM to work direct and be there that evening. I was parked in Parking Blanc and left 30 minutes before the end of the race and listen to the end on RLM. Exited from the car park and on to the road behind the main grandstands into and through LM with no problems at all.

4 hours to Calais, job done.

R.

we always leave straight after the race, and are generally at Calais for a 21.00 crossing. made it in record time last year, only to be herded like cattle for hours...

Need to be on an earlier one than that. Got to get to Somerset once in England. We sat on a train for an hour last year with a power fault 👍
