Hi Everyone - never posted before but often enjoy reading others posts. Im sure the answers to this are already shown but so many threads to read thought someone may be able to point me in the right direction.

I would love to take my 69 Corvette (mid life crisis - most women buy a handbag - I buy cars !!) but I won't have the time to drive it over as I will already be in France for the summer but have a 54 Ford/Simca Vedette which lives in our barn so will probably take that. Have managed to book a hotel about half an hour away so will be driving in each day - I thought I read something somewhere about a car park where you can book a space - is that what people do when they go in their old cars or do we just pitch up to the regular car park ?

I havent really got a feel for the size of it - I know its going to be huge but havent been to anything like this before so just trying to research as much as possible beforehand to hopefully avoid any un-neccesary stresses.

Is there a Pistonheads meeting point ? Either official or unofficial ?? :-)

Thanks in advance of any info and apologies if all this has been answers previously x

The classic car parking/displays are organised, I believe, by various car clubs so you might have to track down a Corvette Club that will be there.

There will also be plenty of other interesting cars in the normal car parks and campsites.

Parking Blanc gives you a personal designated car space, so you can come and go using the same space. It's handily placed close to the circuit entry gates at the bottom of the pits straight. Pitching tents in this car park is not allowed. Every time I have gone to Le Mans for the 24 hours or Le Classic I have slept in the car on the Saturday night, partly due to traffic but also to see as much racing as possible.

You cannot get Parking Blanc tickets on arrival. You can get tickets in advance from Parking Blanc from the ACO. Probably from some of the ticket agencies too.

Parking Blanc is reserved for ACO members, and the OP is in a Simca not a vette so you would have to contact the Simca club for parking but the general car parks are often as varied as the displays inside the circuit.

Where is your hotel. If you book a car park at the opposite side of the track then it takes longer to out. I come in from Arnarge so Expo is good for me.

Thanks everyone - all this is really helpful.
Spend a good hour trying to join the ACO yesterday - it doesnt seem to like my French address, so will have another go as it looks like its worth becoming a member, especially as Le Mans in only 3 hours away - it may encourage me to go to more events.

Really looking forward to it - and yes leyorkie i should imagine the car park is going to be just as interesting. We went to Angouleme last year and spent just as much time wandering around the streets as we did in the paddock - such amazing cars just parked up and in the open air. Even a Delahaye 135 - never thought I would ever see one of these as they are usually in private collections.

As you are all interested in Classics just thought I'd mention the Angouleme Circuit des Ramparts in case you havent heard of it. I live 1 hour away and have done for 14 years and had no idea about it until last year - its amazing and well worth going if you have an interest in cars.

So Le Mans is going to be huge in comparison and Im really looking forward to it and chatting with other petrol heads - its amazing just how many of us are out there isnt it ?

Thanks again guys - so helpful :-)

I disagree with Leyorkie: Parking Blanc is not specifically reserved got ACO members. I've got ore booked and paid tickets there when not being and ACO member.

Just going off the official web site plan.
It is worth joining the ACO for the roadside assistance and track benefits, discounted tickets for all events.
If your near Angouleme then have you been to the road circuit at Pau? Probably 3 hours south from you.

The ACO roadside assistance is not included in the 110 euro membership option, that costs extra

Classic car cover plus all the event benefits 149€

https://myaco.lemans.org/offersheet/allinone/ifram...

If you take the Classic or Prestige car option you get free parking for the Classic
There are so many membership options it takes some reading through to find the one for you.
