Air Quality Certificate - Quick and Easy to do

Decided that as both my Motorhome and Volvo are going to be in France this year, and it has been known for me to go via Paris to get parts for a broken wheel bearing while at Le Mans, i applied for the Crit'Air certificate yesterday.

Quick form to fill out, scan Page 2 of the V5 and it was done for both vehicles in 1 application.

PDFs the next morning confirming all was good. Should arrive in plenty of time for Trip No.1 If not, at least I have some paperwork to show Les Flick.

For anyone looking to check this, apparently they're a requirement for Grenoble, Lyon and Paris but for most Brit LM travellers for this year (route through Rouen) not yet a requirement. Rouen are looking in to the scheme.

I think it is more of a pain if your car does not have a Euro classification. Although classic cars are generally exempt from these things in the UK, in France it seems you can’t get a certificate if you have no Euro engine classification.

I am hearing of S197 Mustangs (2005 to 2104) getting a Crit'Air 1 Classification, which is better than my 2 for the XC60 and Motorhome. The Mustangs are not EU Type approved.

The scheme is also only in operation during certain times so if your clever you can avoid it

If there is no emissions standard indicated then it is based on the year. https://www.crit-air.fr/en/information-about-the-c...

A 2011 and newer mustang will be able to get a 1.

Looks like ‘97 is the cutoff. Cars older than that won’t be able to go into those areas.
