Under 16's GA access

A few of us are taking our sons with us next year.
I know that under 16 years old is free access to the circuit, but can anyone advise how this works, please?
Do we just get to the gate and show ID to prove the age of the under 16?

Basically yes, I've had to take my boys passport for the last couple of years as he's over 6ft now. No problems getting him in though.
That's all they get though, full price for grandstand tickets etc.
They will love it.
