Recommended hotels in Folkestone
Discussion
Guys bear with!
Have decided against on travelling down during the night and leaving late Wednesday/early Thursday morning for an 0810 Chunnel on the Thursday.
Decided to leave Wednesday afternoon from home and have a nice ride down to Folkestone and grab a hotel instead.
Myself and the wife this year, last year was all the guys.
I have used google as my friend and found all the hotels that I can however.
My question is
Does anyone know of or have experience with a fairly secure hotel and car park in and around Folkestone, as much as I am security conscious, the 850R will be loaded to gunnels with all our kit and fairly visible, the last thing we need is the car being broken into pre trip!
Appreciate if anyone has any knowledge, long shot I know
Cheers

I have an alternative suggestion - cross the Channel and 20 mins South of Calais is Boulogne Sur Mer. Theres a lovely IBIS overlooking the harbour, with indoor secure parking.
Its the one with Porte in the name
I use it often, love it.
Some great restaurants nearby too.
Shout if you need names

Really appreciate the replies and information, can't really take anymore time off work, next year I like the idea of grabbing a hotel in France late evening before heading down first thing in the morning, and also the Chunnel time is booked etc anyhow
Did auto route last year but half tempted to try half and half this year and take in some of the villages etc
Mad Friday at arnage anyone!?
If you see a flying volvo red brick 855R be sure you say hello!!

Forgot to add that we can't do the ferry in the 850, it's simply too low, even if I wound the coilovers up, I'm likely to rip the splitter off on embarking or disembarking!
That wouldn't start the trip very well!!
Also last year pot luck we parked in amongst all the school coaches, suffice to say the bag packs, school bags etc were dragged along side the wife's V70 putting some tasty marks down the sides!
The another reason to try the Chunnel I guess
Cheers

You'd be surprised, sat on koni adjustables with touring car splitter, you also forget the volvo has a bloody long overhang from the front wheel to the bumper, not comparable to a Clio in the slightest. will look at the Chunnel options
Thanks for the input everyone
