To anyone that was hoping to book seats in these - after a few e-mails to the ACO ticket office since last year, their position has moved from "might go on sale if the other grandstands fill up" to a confirmation today- that they will not be used this year.

Shame. Looks like I've got a long walk for a seat this year (or a wet bum on the hill opposite).

Ticket sales not going that well then, although they'll still announce 270,000 like they do every year

The other two grandstands at the north of the circuit - Panorama and Dunlop, filled up quickly before Christmas.

There seems to be a lot of demand that side of the circuit - while there's hundreds unfilled on the pit straight.
Makes the decision not to open Tertre Rouge and Chapelle even stranger.

I'm just annoyed cos there's no more quick jaunts back to the campsite for cheap beer and toilets without queues.

With no grandstand at Tertre Rouge / Esses that might mean the big screen on the back of the truck might be gone too nono

It disappeared last time the grandstand went! censored

I do hope that they retain the screen as it is directly opposite the entry point to our campsite at TR and is great having it there.

Agreed, they'd best not take our telly away

Yeah but I definitely remember it disappearing a few years ago when the grandstand went missing. Had to walk to inside of Tertre Rouge to watch the telly biggrin

It did, if we knew definitely that it'd go I'd invest in some satellite equipment, but there's no way of knowing reliably other than waiting to see if the truck turns up or not.
I was a bit worried a couple of years ago when it didn't arrive until Wednesday afternoon, hilarity then ensued when the driver drove straight into the gravel trap

As usual with the Le Mans you just have to see when you get there and adjust accordingly biggrin

I remember it turning up late one year, as I also thought it wasn't coming but missed it getting beached.

I had a dream last night that we turned up and the Genny which powers the big screen wasn't there. My Le Mans anxiety dreams usually involve getting there late and finding some interloper has pinched my spot
