Anyone know if you can get to this KFC when the racing is on?
I am presuming I can cross into the circuit at Tetre Rouge, past the MM Arena, and down that way...entrancing at the back??

Presume it isn't part of the closed off zone? Does anyone know?

Thanks

Moto 24 Hrs takes place on the Bugatti Circuit, so no need to close the premises. Not sure about the 24 Hours either.

Its closed for the car 24hr as its next to the Mulsanne Straight.

Dont see why it would be closed for the bike 24h.

It is open for some (if not all) of the 24hrs as they promote that you get a good view from the upstairs.

Access via the road past the tram station (on foot only?)

Chaps thank you for the replies.

I am after the info for the car race as it happens.
Im surprised it's open because of where it is, but according to Truckosauras it is! Its very handy for where we are staying, and between 10 of us will save about 120 quid vs stadium food for just one meal!!

Don't forget that the track bypasses the roundabout in front of the KFC, according to Google Maps it is 60 metres from KFC to the edge of the track so much further away than most of the other spectating areas.

That's the bit I didn't realise, in which case it makes perfect sense why its open. I was trying to work out which side of the roundabout they used, hadn't worked out they bypass it altogether.

I can confirm it was open last year, cycled there past the tram station.

That's 2 confirmed, thank you! Great, that answers that.
We arrive at the campsite Thu early evening. I always eat at the stadium in time for 10pm qualifying, but this year it was something like 20 quid for a burger, chips and a beer. Nuts.

Instead I fancy KFC for less than half that, and some whisky in coke hidden a big coke bottle to take to the stadium...that'll do nicely.

I'm not sure you can access when the circuit is live but would be good to find out.
The other option is to go to the Macdonalds which is a couple of stops along the tram as it heads into town.

Yes, it is open throughout the race and they advertise being open for the full 24 Hours. Also that there is viewing possible from the upstairs.

I know because I spend a lot of time looking at it from the other side of the circuit.

But we have this, much better than KFC and ice cold beer when you're coming off Poste:

https://lemanssud.lesrelaisdalsace.com/

KFC Info:

from https://www.lemans.org/fr/news/10-restaurants-a-de... Take away message (ha ha ha) open during the race, accessible only on foot.

Thank you for confirming and for the other restaurant. We have a few restaurants we are visiting, this is just a quick junk food fix for thu night qualifying, KFC fits the bill perfectly.

Our highlight is the restaurant on the Mulsanne straight on Saturday night, great steak and chips, Honduras i think its called

French food is, on the whole, just normal food with a fancier name:

SOME being the critical word here.

And have you actually EATEN some of the st that gets sold around the circuit?!?!

Yes, you can get some reasonable stuff, and yes if you trek in to town there are some nice restaurants. Equally around the circuit you'll find loads of stalls selling tastless, butter-less cheese and ham baguettes, or horrid, pre-cooked croque monsieur that they just chuck in the microwave for 30s - and each for the bargin price of less than 20Euro a piece (not including drink)!

Because on the value for money scale food from that KFC beats almost anything you can buy around the circuit. It's cheap, it's reasonable quality, the staff look like they've had more food hygiene training than the 5min the temporary stall staff probably get, it's closer to many of the camp sites than other options.

Is it the best food you can buy in France? No, but then neither is one of those bags of churros that you can actually wring oil out of...

Totally agree, I’ve not shouted about it’s existence because it’s been a nice quiet spot.

The thing you can guarantee is properly cooked food at a regular price to international standards instead of absolute rubbish of dubious quality and handling from many vendors around the circuit. The D’art next door is good also......but let’s keep them that way
