Who else stopped for a Shell Optimax top up on the Thursday Midday sometime on the main route from calais ? The place was Full of Elise's, VXR's , TVR, Hot Hatches , Evo's, old classic's etc 's. There's was a bit of a queue to fill up but we didn't mind at all!

We were their in the Chimaera.

Saw a few Lotus types taking on water, and a silver Nissan also having some difficulties.

There was some fine motors at the pumps.

Just as we were leaving, a spanking new Mosler pulled into the service area. Latter saw it parked up in the paddock (it was bloody huge).

sounds like the drive up is as much worth it, as the show itself.

Next year. next year.

This will be the one called something like ‘arie de bai de somme” or thereabouts and more importantly has a large waterfowl reserve right next to it.

There is a whacking great observation tower next to the main service area which struck me as damn good place to take a pair of Holland & Holland’s. So then, next year it’s an Overfinch with a Labrador ready to stock upfor the bar-be-que on the way down

We always have a long break there just to look at the cars and this year was no exception and it didn’t disappoint. Zonda, Diablos, Viper GTS and much much more

We stopped there too arriving just after the lamborghinis. Saw a porsche turbo being loaded onto a trailer, before a new Rolls Royce appeared with suitably dressed passengers
Then a swarm of caterhams arrived and took over the place

I find it's usually a good car spotting show on the way . Last year we followed an F40 for quite a few miles, and this year there seemed to be Lambo's everywhere!
While overtaking the usual 'Lumbering Lorry' on a '70-80mph quick lunge' , a countach came out nowhere and went past me like I was going backwards! The sound almost shattered my windows, worth the traffic jams, eh!

I Think I remember a gold coloured MGB GT there somewhere. Was also a rare 80's looking Alfa convertable that had boiled up it's radiator somewhat...

Will make a point to stop at that Shell station for next year!
